- Usually it's best to never say never, but there's no doubt in my mind that these 12 NBA records will never be broken again in the history of the NBA. The way the game is played has changed, rules have changed, and we're in a new era now. All things that have made these records untouchable and will allow them to stay in the record books forever.

Robert parishes record of most career points without a 3 pointer with 23,334 is impressive. But then u realise that Kareem scored over 38,000 points while scoring only 1 three pointer.
Damn
He played for 20 years and is a ball hog
Shaq also has 1 3 pointer in his career. If he did not shoot that 3 then he would be replace Parish as the only guy who scored the most points without 3 point
pretty sure Wilt scored more without any 3-pointers
@@VelaniTheOne i think its because the record only counts if you played while the 3-point line was there, so Wilt dont qualify for the record
John Stockton's All-time steals record (3,265) will NEVER be broken.
Or his 15,000+ assists
Why not?
@@today978 Think about it. Even if one player played 1500 games and averaged 2 steals per game, he still would be shy of the record. 1500 games equals to over 18 seasons without ever missing a game.
@@Xth3Z ok but the point of why not isn't how hard it is it's that there is always a chance of insane greatness. One day someone might come along and be so good at stealing the ball he averages 8-9 steals a game. Just cuz it sounds improbable or even crazy doesn't make it impossible
One player averaging 8-9 steals a game? 🤣🤣
Actually in wilts days the pace was actually way faster which makes his stats less impressive but his minutes per game even more impressive and he never almost never got hurt so so much for the idea of load managment
The average FG% was SO much lower the rebounding records will never be broken from that era also
the fact that Wilt averaged 48.5 minutes a game is insane
Load management is a complete waste been watching the nba my whole life I’m forty and I can’t remember an era where more stars have been constantly injured
Wilt had to have stamina for having intercourse with 20,000 women in his life
@@jaredgrube6320 actually no it wasn't the average fg% was roughly the same and hasn't really changed more than a few points in the history of the league
Embiid gonna take that record from Dwight. Bro is renting a house at the free throw line basically every game 😭
Joe emfreethrow
cry more
No. Howard got fouled and sent to the line so much because he was a poor free throw shooter. Sending him to the foul line was an intentional move by the opposing team. Embiid is a good free throw shooter who gets to the line organically. No team is gonna send him there 20 separate times, though.
Finally someone is mentioning Mark Eaton's UNBREAKABLE record! This is one that people rarely talk about! I've seen just one other youtuber mention it, on a Jonny Arnett video.
Would be interesting to see a video about breakable records. There must be a ton of records about to be broken or some that feel odd that they are still the record.
do ranking the best plauers from each postion like you always do. Those videos are so good.
That was great. Lots of work to compile this for sure
A really crazy thing about Stockton, is Mark Jackson played for Utah in his second to last season, so between Stockton and Jackson, they had more career assists than probably most teams in the league.
AC Greens record for playing all 82 games in like 12+ seasons wont be broken either.
This^^^^
Yeah. I actually got to meet him but I didn’t know who he was.
I think it’s possible to beat that record.
Likely? No.
However, there are no rule changes that would stop you from accomplishing this feat today. The right guy just needs to come along.

Back when Wilt played it was a faster pace. teams had more possessions in his era. Another Wilt misconception. Average size center 6'10. Average size 2021 6'10.
Austin you got that heat buddy....SUBSCRIBED
Fun fact: Steve Nash is above Mark Jackson in total assists all-time by only 1 assist.
But he played in an inflated SYSTEM, where their team played almost ZERO defense, so Mark is clearly the better player, in every sense.
"Hand down-MAN down!"
@@dukesworldoftanks whoaa put some respect on steve's name
@@dukesworldoftanks 1 time all-star vs. 8-time all-star and 2-time MVP
@@jamesharrison1579 The one time all-star played in an era dominated by centers and forwards and Michael Jordan, tell me again if Steve Nash would've been able to be named an all-star in the 90s or even win regular season MVP.
@@dysfunctional4912 if the era was dominated by centers, forwards, and Michael Jordan, wouldn't it be easier to make the all star team as a point guard?
Obviously Mark Jackson was great, but I wouldn't say he had a better career than Steve Nash by any means
u could argue that mark Eatons record will never be broken because of the "3 in the key" rule
"no person can get 7 fouls again"
me: devin booker in one of the finals games looked like he had 8 fouls
You just know a few years ago they had Oscar Roberson’s triple double record.
You missed another couple of Wilt’s unbreakable records. No one will ever again average over 27 rebounds per game for a season, or over 24 per game for a career. The most I can remember recently were 15 per game by Dennis Rodmanfor a season. Heck, guys like Nate Thurmond, in Wilt’s era, would have years where they averaged over 18 rebounds per game. I think Wilt’s lowest season total was 19 per game. Those numbers are just unreachable. Wilt also owns at least half of the single games of more than 60 points scored. He has 30. Including, of course, his 100 point game, yet another unbeatable record. No one has come within 20 points of that record.
Exactly
Kobe came within 19...
Kobe got 81 and in today's league, with all the 3 point shots, it could be possible to see a 100 point game. Though it would have to be an insane performance.
Wilt Norman did it without the 3 point line. Let that sink in.
So these can be broken telepathically?
No way is Stockton record getting broken
Guys like Gervin and Maravich scored a helluva lotta points without technically making a 3 pointer in the NBA I think. Maravich in particular averaged like 40 points a game in college without getting credit for 3 pointers even though he absolutely could shoot from distance.
WE NEED MORE LIKE THIS!!!! PLZ
Ball don’t lie. Love you Sheed, best five alive.
Without being sure of how NBA tactics (and rules) develop into the future, I'd leave Stockton's assists on the table. It would take a fundamental shift in how the game is played, but it's one of those stats that could just explode out in a perfect storm. Especially if scoring rates increase, then all of a sudden things could change in an instant.
Jerry West only player on the losing team to win finals MVP that is un breakable because now finals MVPs have to be on the championship team
Nah I’m sure if someone goes crazy and still loses they could win it. Imagine some dude average like 50 but still loses it could definitely happen
@@bobbob6851 LeBron averaged 34/12/10 in the 2017 NBA finals and still lost it and he averaged 34/9/10 in 2018 and also lost it so I am not sure
@@sportswhiz6328 I think 60 PPG would have to be the number. Especially if it’s a seven game series.
@@sportswhiz6328 yes I know, but the thing is while LeBron averaged that KD averaged 35/12/6 on crazy efficiency so he didn’t get it. What I meant with my comment was that the person would have to average otherworldly numbers with no one close by
@@sportswhiz6328 probably a bunch of white judges oppressing him🤣🙈
I'm going to add Glen Rice's 184 points in a single NCAA Tournament. You'd have to play in every round and average over 30.9 pts per game to break it.
Not NBA, and an average of 30.9 over six games isn't unattainable.
@@johnanderson9765 never said it was NBA. And the record has stood for over 30 years, so maybe it’s not so attainable.
@@oddcreatureX It does say it was NBA, the title of the video is "12 IMPOSSIBLE NBA Records That Can Physically Never Be Broken."
@@johnanderson9765 Relax, it’s a You Tube video, not the Bill of Rights lol
8 fouls in one game has also occurred before, I think actually by two different guys. This was because no other players were available, so by rule every foul after 6 was counted as a technical foul as well.
Maybe rules are different in college, but when Clemson ran out of players years ago against Wake Forest, they had to play 4 on 5.
@@johnanderson9765 yep! That’s how it works in all levels below the NBA (not sure about international leagues). HS and NCAA, even city leagues I’ve played in… you’re just short a player when they foul out.
That happened to the warriors in around like 06. They only had 8 available players and someone got hurt or somthing during the game. I don’t know remember how many fouls or who the player was but I remember the game stopping as the refs had to look in the rule book to see what to do lol
@@K12127 I remember that! It was against my Blazers and they still managed to win 😂
The REAL IMPOSSIBLE RECORD
Bill Russell 1,715 rebounds in the NBA Finals will never be broken.
You could go to the Finals 10 times and All 10 times the series goes 7 games averaging 17reb per game and still be short 15 rebs. Bill Russell the Real Goat
Nigga it was only 8 teams back then compared to 30 teams today
@@AlmightyGrape ppl say that like it was easier, if you contracted the league to 8 teams today, imagine how many "stars" wouldn't even make the starting 5. Every team would look like the warriors with Durant, I doubt one of them could win 11 in 13.
@@kennyfleck8630 my nigga he played in the 50’s n 60’s, he was playing against Plummers n milkmen, in a league with only 8 teams. That shit not impressive
@@AlmightyGrape plumbers and milkmen? Like wilt chamberlain? Jerry west? You can't fault someone for the era they played. This is one of the pioneers of the sport, if it wasn't impressive, there would be no NBA today. The greatest players would be great in any era. And they didn't make as much money back then either, so they were "plumbers" and "milkmen" to make extra money. More impressive if you ask me, that basketball was their part time job. Do some research before parroting some shit you heard....
@@kennyfleck8630 omg u named the only real comp for that stacked Celtics team👍. The fact is he played in a 8-10 team league where every team made the playoffs (u had to literally be the worst team in the league to not make it), in a league where 90% of the players played basketball as a side hustle, basically a rec league, while playin with a stacked Celtics team …. Sorry if I’m not fuckin impressed
2:18 if a player averaged 9.5 assist a game for 20 years and never missed a game that's only 15,580 still more than 200 off
ye and no one will ever do that lol
the most rebounds in a game will never be broken
With Marc Eaton's blocks, I am surprised to not see Tim Duncan's career playoff blacks record.
And John Stockton's steals record
I'm missing Wilt's 27+ rebounds per game in a season or his 55 rebounds in a single game here. Those are also extremely unlikely to be ever broken.
Actually, just look up Wilt's records Wikipedia page. That guy was not from this planet. 🤣
Worth mentioning Wilt was 26 his rookie year, imagine his all time numbers if he got to play in the league right out of college, or even high school, which he was definitely physically able to have done so
Wilt also did not have 3 pt line, and blocks /steals weren't counted for most if not all his career. Also, no Shot clock, pace was slower.
Brother I just subscribed this video was Fan stat tic
Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 point game?
Actually, the pace of play was way faster back in Wilt's day
If we went back and looked at Bill Russell blocks per game wonder what it would be?
My NBA Create a Player: "I disagree"
Ben Simmons gonna break that last one. JK, he's never playing again
Wilt had a season with over 48 minutes per game? I think some of these are possible to break but over 48 minutes per game will never even be approached.
By far my favorite record to say, "he averaged more than a game, a game!"
Bill Russell also had 2 championship rings as coach of the Celtics. He was a playing coach the last two years before he retired, which the Celtics won. That's a total of 11 as a player, and 2 as a coach. Which ties Phil Jackson's 13 rings (11 as a coach and 2 as a player).
Nowitzki's 21 years in one team is impossible to break
Idk about this one. Many have come close
Shout out boss from 🇵🇭
“Dude just ran up and down the court for half an hour.” I’m deceased from the comment. 🤣🤣🤣
Ya. He was just working on his cardio for that game
0:35 victor wembemyama lollll
He's only 3.6 a game. As the video said, no one's even got 4 per game in decades.
Now. Slooowly...Take. A. Breath.
never say never. I'm going to go back in time, get fit and break all of em. How much you wanna bet I can throw a football over them mountains?
The detail, man puts the kobe photo at 8:24
Interesting topic but they are more substantial records that require actual playing time and excellence. Most steals, rebounds, field goal percentage, never fouling out, etc
Forgot to mention John Havliceck, K.C Jones, Tom Sanders unbeatable record of 8-0 which most likley is gonna take very long considering the players who have multiple titles also have loss(es).
Rank every position of every team
Chet: **Mark Eaton imma ruin your career**
How about Jose Calderon's free throw record?? He made 151 out of 154 free throw attempts in a single season!
The only way Cal Bowdler's record gets broken is if a team dresses a minimum of eight players and three of them foul out, get ejected, or get injured. But the odds of that happening are so slim (regardless of one of the other five getting six fouls and being allowed to stay in like Robert Sacre back in 2014), that the odds of someone get eight fouls as well would be completely astronomical. The best chance would have been during the peak of COVID, but that situation never arose.
don otten got 8 fouls in like the 50s once cuz there werent enough players to sub him out
@@TELE.GRAM--Sp4zie pass
Tony Snell, Avery Bradley & Pat Couvington also has 0 pt 0 rbs 0 assist 0 blocks 0 steals games with 20 + minutes
Don Otten holds the record for most fouls in a game with 8
Nice video, but I have a comment about the narration. I used to be a broadcaster and I don't believe it's best to rush through the narration as you did. You spoke very quickly and edited out the natural pauses in your voice-over. In doing so, you made it sound unnatural. When we listen to people talk, we are accustomed to hearing them talk at a certain pace with a certain rhythm, which includes natural pauses for breaths, that allows us to comprehend and absorb what the speaker is saying. That's especially important in a video like this loaded with lots of stats. LOTS of stats. BTW, my favorite was the player who played some 29 minutes without recording a stat. (I had to back up the video to hear that twice and make certain I had it right).
Dude did you just said that nba was played with slower pace in the sixties? Just look at the number of possessions. When people speak about Wilt's minutes, it's because the pace is slower, but when they talk about his rebounds and points, it's because the pace was faster...
You're right. No one can average 50 points and 25 rebounds in a slow paced game, unless they do everything and their teammates are merely bystanders.
Wilt is also the only CENTER to lead the NBA in assist 1 year.
True. He did that just to prove a point. 😎
Would be funny if Lebron got stubborn and chose to play until like 45 years old to beat Stockton's assists record (He's a great passer so he would still be productive after his body slows down)
It's about time to rank the best player from every position for 2022 nba season
Doncic, Derozan, Giannis, Siakam, Embiid.
It's something about how Mark Eaton block Moses Malone. 🤣🤣🤣
I was gonna say luka could break the tech record but then I forgot about the suspension rule

Prime Dwight tho got damn he was so good
I've never heard anyone use the term "hac-a-shaq" for any other big man besides shaq in all my 25yrs of watching basketball.
Pffff, MP broke all of these records in his rookie season.
What about Wilts 55 rebounds in one game? I’d also like to point out blocked shots weren’t a stat when Wilt and Russell played so Eatons record is hollow
Wilt has over 31k without a 3 bruh
By the way, this host missed out on a number of Wilt Chamberlain records that won't be broken, including rebounds.
Mark Eaton was also blocking purely layups.
Somebody would have to average 12 assists playing 77 game for 17 seasons to break the assist record
Good video, but I disagree with one statement. The pace of the game was not slow in the 60’s. Look at the scores of the games. The scores are much higher on average than today. Plus, although these guys didn’t have the same average athleticism, the players were much better jump shooters. They did not miss open jumpers like today’s players. That may also explain the higher point totals.
Curry changed the game so much I swear
Holy I didn’t see it ok
Steve Kerr could break Jackson's 13 rings record. He's got 9, as of tonight.
I don’t think this man knows what literally means
For the first one I recon When Victor Wembenyama gets to the nba I thin he could potentially break Eaton’s record
Doubt it
I think the record of most points without a three goes to wilt, because he scored 31,000 points and he never made a three (unless it's a player who played in a time with a three pointer, then yes it does go to robert parish)
Off study for a bit Bill Russell averaged 8.3 blocks.
Michael Williams made 97 straight free throws 😊
For me, the most unbreakable record is the 48.5 min per game by Wilt.
If you translate to soccer, and look at Fifa history, the equivalent is 22 years of world tournament competition without one loss. This record is not by Brazil but was by Uruguay. Never to be equaled .......from 1924 to 1954 with some years for WWII.
Scott Skiles had 30 assists in one game!
LOL thumbnail has 3 centers...shows you they were the be-all end-all of old school basketball
Mark Eaton's 'record' wouldn't even stand, had they counted blocks in Wilt's era. Wilt was the Goat. End of

I’m gonna coordinate a league wide strike for the entire NBA, replace all the players with WNBA players, and then spend two weeks teaching Air Bud to be just a little less terrible than WNBA players. Suddenly 50.4 PPG doesn’t seem so unbreakable anymore, does it? 🧐
“Air Bud, how many times do I have to tell you this?! Just because they dribble the ball of their foot constantly and air ball wide open layups doesn’t give you the right to stoop to their level!! It’s 50 points a game or back to the clown guy with the newspaper!”
