    Congrats to double champ Michael. His brain and Jay's blindfold from the stoneage are an unbeatable combination. Also congrats to Q8CUBER for the new Kuwaiti NR. And yes Parmi is correct but for whatever reason Parma seems to be more common (the dish has nothing to do with the Italian city or the ham though).

    Looking at Michaels attempt, I think it would have scratched when he slid them accross the table when he started the attempt

      Fairly sure this is it, the table I had was really beat up

      @@treepoder in retrospect, Zak and I definitely should have put your 49 cube one on a cleaner table. Nice job on the 4/5blind!

    Parmi. I would have kept going despite scratches on the cubes.
    Also I wish the bigger comps in Australia had 2 multi attempts like they do in other countries.

      Yeah this is my one beef with Oceanics - pretty ridiculous that the biggest comp of the year is only gonna have 1 multi attempt

    • @treepoder
      @treepoder Před rokem

      @@cookierobber to be honest that's just part of maining multi, I feel like having one attempt definitely shakes things up a lot more in terms of podiums and wins. Especially if it's a national or continental championship you're likely not gonna perform at your peak due to nerves and other factors anyway, so having more than one attempt likely won't change a lot considering the win is the important thing and not the result. Imo having multiple attempts at a comp kinda takes away the pressure factor that makes multi so interesting to compete in in the first place

    • @cookierobber
      @cookierobber Před rokem +1

      @@treepoder Kinda confused about how you can say that having one attempt "definitely shakes things up" in terms of podiums/wins, but also that having more than one attempt "likely won't change a lot"? Those are mutually exclusive, they can't both be true.
      Anyway I agree that only having one attempt shakes things up, but I don't think that's a good thing. Maybe at a local competition that can be cool, but at a championship ideally the best people will win their respective events. *Some* element of luck can be good, to keep things interesting and give people who are at a high level but maybe not quite the best a chance to win, but the variance in a single multi attempt is way too large to be reasonable for deciding who wins. Even the best people in the world still regularly shit the bed on "safety" attempts (see: Bober getting 24 points on Polish champs attempt 1, Kamil DNFing Euros attempt 1, you getting 15 points at Aus nats, etc.), so only having 1 attempt means there's a very solid chance that the person/people who actually deserve to win don't even end up placing. Idk about you, but that doesn't sound like a great situation to me.

    • @cookierobber
      @cookierobber Před rokem +1

      @@treepoder Tbh I suspect that this is partially rationalisation due to only having 1 palace. If you had multiple palaces and were comfortable doing 2 or 3 attempts in a comp, you might see things differently.

    Watching Michael drag those cubes across the table was painful...
