I read that one big reason these individually wrapped expensive fruits exist in Japan is because they have a very strong gifting culture. The fancy fruits like this are intended to be purchased and given as formal gifts in work or business settings. The fruits hold high cultural status as an appropriate gift, are safe and inoffensive, and completely solve the dilemma of trying to pick out a specific personalized gift for colleagues/peers.
Exectly well said !
Love to see your mom she has such a calm persona 🥺

It’s funny because I actually lived in Okinawa Japan for 7 years and I had a neighbor who also happened to be our landlord 😂. He would grow his own fruit and he would sometimes bring us over his mangos and they were the best I have ever had (I’m a military child and I lived there for 7 years cause I extended for the people who will think I’m lying)
Nice bro👍
I’m still out here bro I live in awase
Do you miss AV and Naha ?
Well in Japan everything has to be perfect, not just the people but food as well, especially fruits. So perfect size, color, shape, taste and so on. Unfortunately this means that a lot of pestizides and other chemicals are approved in farming. Also a lot of plastic waste because a lot of them are individually packed in plastic. This equates to contests for most beatiful fruits and so you can stumble upon really expensive fruits.
I think they just exaggerate their claims. And they know how to market their things in the west.
@@shishirsingh8706 no its true, from all the youtubers i watch that do live in japan, it is actually these claims

Gully has this god given talent to describe whatever rare or one-off product he is served with simple everyday flavors. That is what we should look for when it comes to "reaction" or "I try ..." videos, an analysis and a bit of description of the good, not just as most people would say: "Yeah it's kinda good".
Keep it up!
Man your mother is just soo sweet and wholesome 💞
Love that you involve your mama ❤

Love the comment mama made “Pakistani mangoes totally different, Mexican mangoes totally different.” The beauty of cooking and life as a whole simplified in one sentence
"This is the most expensive mango in the world"
Mama: "Did you bankrupt our family, boy?"
These very expensive japanese fruits are often used as gifts in Japan, I once got a big box full of Muscat grapes and they were the most delicious fruit I've ever eaten
Totally agree. Specially, when they ripe and tinkle 😋😋😋
In EGYPT we have 2 mangos look like this one and it's called "Heidi mango" Arabic "مانجو هايدي" and the other one called "Mango Naomi" Arabic " مانجو ناعومي" but the best 2 mangos in EGYPT are Mango "Owaisi" Arabic "مانجو عويسي" and the other one called "mango clove" Arabic "مانجو الفص" but I don't know if this one in the video is too good and I don't like when people say if it's expensive then it's the best
We have a few varieties of Mangos here in South Africa, one kind exactly like the one you just ate and they are not as pricey. They’re actually pretty cheap the further north you go. We have a special pickle as well that uses mangos and it uses the more greener, less sugary ones found mostly in the East.
They ripen around Sep-Feb…and they’re friggin amazing. Juicy and sweet, fleshy with a fragrant skin. The more freckles the sweeter. We also have that weird hook-type one and there’s another of them that is quite small with a thinner skin but still with a sweet taste, just not as sweet as the hooked one or the one you just had…
Super yum!!! But I wouldn’t spend $68 for them…😟
I planted Dragon fruit 2 years ago and last year it beared more than 21 fruits and this year there is more yield. Its more sweeter than market too but I saw the difference here.... You pay $ 6.42 in market but not sweet at all whereas home grown is more sweeter and flavourful. 😊
Yeah spending $68 for one mango is called foolishness! In India too, there are varieties, thats sweeter than miyazaki and are very much cheaper too, like Rs. 20-30 per Kg for World Famous Dussehri Mango, Chausa Mango, Rs. 50-100 per kg fo Gulab Khaas, Husn-e-Aara, Zardalu, etc.
Legit moms- "baith ke kha lo aaram se!" 😂😂
Having this in our home garden is a pleasure
Wow, thats an expensive mango. Looked really good and you and momma made it sound pretty good too. Cool you got your mom in there. Got a new subscriber. Was fun to watch. Great video

“Sit and eat calmly” that’s all I hear all day!
Actually, in egypt we have this type of mango and tbh its like around 3$. Its really sweet and soft, its also really just like it is in the video. Its worth a try :)
By far the best mangos I’ve ever had were in the Yucatán peninsula in Mexico. Legit idk wtf is up with the mangos there, but the shits were so good that all I ate for breakfast everyday for a week was just mangos XD. I have tried mangos from all over the world, but nothing has even gotten close to those. I have to go back there, them shits were crazy.
Zamn
Now i want one
Try dudhiya malda any chance you get. They feel absolutely heavenly.
They were originally cultivated by irrigating the mango trees with milk(hence the name dudhiya which means milky in hindi). A former prime minister of india was rumoured to have kept telling everyone about those mangoes. Imagine how good they must be lmao.
Try indian alphanso..thats heavenly
Mexican mangoes are Philippine type. They’re called Manila mangoes for a reason (due to the Galleon Trade).
I love how she said, "Baith ke kha lo aaram se" 🥰

1:56 translation…
It’s good, not bad but the taste of Pakistani mangoes is totally different
I love hearing her speak Urdu, "beth kar khao" it's like one of my aunties just reprimanded me 😂♥️
Thats the sort of thing my grandma often says.
For the English bros, it means "eat while sitting down" in a lot of South Asian countries like Pakistan, India, Bangladesh etc it's rude to eat while standing up and you'll often get yelled at by elders if they see you standing whilst eating.
Also in Islam, it's commanded to sit while eating and drinking so it's extra bad manners not to
It's Hindi
@@samudradas6153 he's Pakistani it's Urdu :)

I once Visited Shuja Abad the Place where the Best Mangos of Pakistan are Cultivated and I took a (Unripe)Green Manga from a tree and it was the Best and Sweetest manga I have ever tasted even in Unripe form
But sadly they are All Exported
It somewhat also good that we get good money so, yeah I love those
And the Name of The Mango was White Chounsa❤️🤤
When you were eating the mango and your mum told you to sit down and eat it😂…that reminds me so much of my mum and grandmas
Fun fact: part of the pricing of fruits from Japan, comes from their lack of land to farm fruits, they have a lot of the most expensive fruits in the world, and while they put a lot of effort into making sure they are top tier, it is still difficult for them to be good enough to justify the price to anyone out of country
My man got me craving for mangoes in the middle of the night
Don't throw away the seed, bro. Plant it. 🙂🥭
Love from a divine mango lover 🥭💛🧡

Yeah plant it in a country where its always winter

You should try "Harummanis" from Malaysia! Only available during April and May each year, a rare delicacy and very delicious!
The name also literally translates to "Fragrant Sweet"
'Malda' is probably the most popular mango in India
And its awesome 🌟
There is a strain of mango from the Philippines that is the tastiest in the world. Its called carabao.
Cap it's Pakistani honey mangoes nothing can compare it's nothing like the regular African ones
Just because she said “thank you for watching” so smooth I gave a like lol
Best mangos I've ever had, and I've eaten a lot of mangos, were organic mangos you could buy per the box from spud. It was like 11 dollars a box and every mango was magically perfectly ripe. I was converted to organic overnight from them then I couldn't afford it after a few months. But I will never forget the pure bliss of an organic mango. I realize now non organic ones have less taste and aren't ripe
In Sri Lanka, we also have different types of mangoes and they taste like heaven 🥰😋
