"Summoning the demons of hell" feels like a jab at the satanic panic around D&D in the 80's

It absolutely is and it was a panic brought to you by the same people who thought of Pokemon as satanic in the 90s. Because of course.
That panic briefly came back into the mainstream this past summer thanks to a little hit show on Netflix called Stranger Things (something that was made to cash in on the 80s Nostalgia Fad from a few years ago)
@@Ilikecatsismychannelname Back when I was a Christian, I went to a church run by a pastor who each week repeated all his sermons from dated 80s through 2000s "articles" about how Harry Potter, Heavy Metal music, Pokémon, Magic The Gathering, and D&D are all Satanic xD

Stephen Lynch is the Embodiment of a Bard. Also I used to think this song was a lot meaner than it is, and then I watched a few D&D youtubers and watched Stranger Things and The Legend of Vox Machina… now I realize this song is entirely accurate to people who play D&D and is likely self-deprecating humor like many Tabletop Gamers are known for.

It still bothers me that you can tell they probably have never played a game of D&D in their lives from the sound of the original's lyrics. This will always be the better version of this song because of that last couple verses added on to really sell it.
