In this video, we look at how to determine the limiting factor in photosynthesis from graphs. We then explore how we can use the idea of limiting factors to increase the yield of crops.

ur dad my biology one is tomorrow. i hope he saves me too bc he’s the only revision thingy i’ve been using to take notes 💀
I'm currently preparing for my IGCSE exams starting this May and your video's are helping me have a greater understanding of all the concepts required and also those areas I found very difficult to understand and for that I say THANK YOU!
Used you so much for my November mocks, I do combined science and you got me an 8-7, now using u to revise for my assessments in may, you’re the best!!
GCSEs 2021 and I finally understand
This guy saves my exam every time thanks a lot!
honestly, you deserve more recognition. You make everything so easy and simple.
thank you, freesciencelessons, your videos helped immensely, in year 10, studying for mocks, great help!
this just covered up my whole semester
Hmm...semester......are you American.....?
so. much love honestly idk what I'd do without your videos my teachers can't teach for the life of them
You that
I LOVE YOU FREESCIENCELESSONS MAN
You made it so simple. Thank you so much!
Got a prep exam tomorrow. Very great video, I must say.
He is the bestest literally I had understand limiting factor very. Quickly and efficiently ..I love his teaching style and formal toneee.......very gooooodddd keep u
These help a lot, thank you.
Thanks for this, a fantastic recap.
best teacher ever . way better than teachers in school thanks so much im in year ten revising
FINALLY I UNDERSTAND. THANK YOU
My mans successfully taught 3 years science and he’s about to make it 4
I highly appreciate this,u r best teacher ,thanks for the help.
Thank you very match, you explained very well. I understand clearly.
Really helped, keep doing what ur doing mate
You are a lifesaver. thank you very much!
I love this man
Hi!! I love you videos! They've helped me so much 😃, I was wondering if you would be able to make more videos for the A-level courses as well? Thanks :)
my bio mocks are in 3 hours and I'm currently speed running all of your videos lmaoo
how did it go?
unbelievably thankful
ayo my guy out here saving lives
Last minute revision 📖🤯....pray for me🥺🤞 .....
thank you so much
hes literally carrying my whole gcse
I have a biology test tomorrow and I’m hoping I can actually learn this cause this was the one thing I don’t get
Amazing!
THE FINAL VIDEO, CAME A LONG WAY
watching this on the day of my biology gcse
Lol
This saved me, I had a light intensity and CO2 graph on my homework.
What software do you use for the diagrams?
58 mins to my test and you’re my only hope of passing
you are my favourite math boy.
The teacher every wanted but didn't deserve
I have a biology test today! :'(
Hi, really enjoy your videos. Thank you for the content, deeply appreciated. What is the inverse proportion, inverse square law and light intensity in context of photosynthesis about?
anonymousyouth Doubling the distance between the lamp and pondweed will reduce the light intensity by a quarter. This is known as inverse square law.
That's not quite right I'm afraid. Doubling the distance reduces the light intensity TO a quarter not by a quarter. But thanks for the comment.
Freesciencelessons yeah that what I meant sorry 😂
I am curious whether the amount of water is also considered as a limiting factor at some point as it is one of the reactants in photosynthesis just like carbon dioxide?
Hi. The amount of water is not usually considered as a limiting factor as it's crucial to so many systems in the plant. If the level of water falls that low, then the plant will have effectively shut down.
my mock is tmrw - its 11pm got 4 more vids to watch wooo
What did you get?
him: this is for higher tier students only
me being in set three but my teacher still sending me it to work on: welp
Good luck to everyone today x
i didn't understand the part about the different limiting factors can you elaborate pls
so if you have a plant, it will not grow at all, but if you were to add light to it, it increases the rate of photosynthesis. so initially, the light at the start was the limiting factor because the plant needed the light in order to carry out photosynthesis
Hi ! Thank you for the video 😇 I was just wondering if I could have some advice... I have my gcses this summer and my teachers have told me its time to start revising, but I feel so overwhelmed by how much there is to learn and how many subjects, how do I make sure I cover all material and how do I start ? Any tips... ? Thank you !!
oatycookieori. Search up eve bennette, unjaded jade, mr bruff (for English)
The two girls will help a lot with the subjects and how to revise for them etc...
He's so good🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🅿️
Doing a 24 hour extension rnn cus i just got a detention today 🤪
Thanks for the grade 9
by Higher Tier only... Does that exclude Triple?
StoredEELk no, this is included in triple.
POV I have my biology GCSE tomorrow 😊😊
*In one hour
would light intensity have any effects on the temperature?
Possibly but I wouldn't connect them at GCSE level.
do English and maths 2
If he did that i'd pass school
Bro i cleared this topic after 4 years in just 4 minutes loll
Will they ever ask questions about that kind of graph shown?
yeah they can most likely for higher tier
Most likely yh
Wheres factors effecting transpiration rate?
GCSE Biology (9-1) Transpiration
Why is light intensity the limiting factor before the graph levels off?
Another question: What is the limiting factor for the line showing ‘higher temperature’? Is it chlorophyll or is it one of the others?
any of the 2
Is limited factor effect when their is a low amount of water or oxygen
A limiting factor is when an element (e.g. oxygen) if in short supply reduces the rate of photosynthesis.
Yes
No
Sir why does it say light intensity at the bottom of the graph if we are trying to find out if carbon dioxide and heat are limiting factors ? Also , what is the definition of a limiting factor?
Thank you I would appreciate your help!
A limiting factor is anything that limits the rate of photosynthesis (ie makes the reaction slower than it could theoretically be). There is only ever one limiting factor acting at any time.
We look at the effect of carbon dioxide and temperature with light intensity at low light intensities, carbon dioxide / temp are not limiting (as light intensity is) but at high light intensities, carbon dioxide / temp can be limiting.
@@Freesciencelessons
Thank you very much sir for your explanation , your time and the way you help students like us everyday.Thank you
can water be the limiting factor? that’s what i got taught
It can, but if there's not enough water the plant being unable to perform photosynthesis would be the last of its worries as it would die in a case of water deprivation.
hey due it goes into wordpress what di u do wheres the actual link for it
That is the link. I'll be releasing the workbooks in 2018 after I've completed all of the new videos.
Hi. I had a doubt, as u mentioned there are 4 limiting factors (co2, light intensity, temperature and chlorophyll). The equation states the co2+h2o ---> c6h12o6 + o2 so why can't water be a limiting factor as well?
those 4 are what's on the spec. The other one probably exists irl but we're not learning this for practical application are we, it's for an exam
he need an MBE now
or a knight hood
