@@reanukeaves5629 Who would put the biggest franchise in the world, Star Wars, in the hands of EA hahaha, and Disney is always behind the projects, they are the ones who finance it, it was certainly Disney who stopped financing and they wanted to cancel the project.
I hate EA as a studio. The amount of brilliant games that have been promised and cancelled, all to a fanbase that has been heavily invested in the gaming franchise since the '80s. Honestly, they disgust me, especially considering just how much money and resources they have. Yet they think they can choose what WE want

EA and other AAA studios are really just so out of touch with fans nowadays. This proves that they don't know what fans want at all, especially when it comes to Star Wars.
Every company prioritizes increase of profits and reducing risks these days. That's why the arrowverse was murdered by CW's new owners(Nexstar), the Batgirl film was erased from existence and used as a tax write off, James Gunn was made into the creative head for WB:D's DC entertainment just cause his DC projects were recieved better than anything after Man of Steel and the first WW film, etc. So, yeah. The big heads only care about what keeps their company alive and themselves rich while those below them are the ones who care about the fans. Walter Hamada being the exception considering he despised Cavill's Superman despite the fans wanting him back for at least one MoS sequel.

I personally like to play multiple games per gaming session to not have games I like get to repetitive, but I do agree it is a little repetitive for now but i think they have done a good job differing automatons from the bugs in gameplay and hope to see it with the next enemy faction.

@@revan5293 indeed. Personally, I'd want full character creation and customization instead of a set character. Set characters are okay for a first experience, but to make the game feel different each time... character creation/customization is needed. Otherwise, it loses its replayability.

@@doodoofart8551 but they have made Star Wars games that sold just as well as battlefield like Battlefront 2015 and heck even BF2, the issue is that the licensing fees reduces the profit and it gets to the point where they have to decide if it’s worse or not to just get the full profits from an IP they own

The most mind boggling thing is they said "we gotta focus on the two things that people are excited for: stuff that belong to our own IP's and that star wars game. Unfortunately this means we have to cancel the game from THE SAME IP with a MUCH MORE POPULAR AND ACCESIBILE GAMEPLAY STYLE."

I think rockstar game company should make a red dead Star Wars game with Mandos or clone, stormtroopers them make like a online version like red dead you could choose to be a out law,trooper,bounty and hunter and choose your timeline too
Yeah, that is what I imagined when i thought of a Mandalorian game. The blaster fire, hand-to-hand combat, and the western-esque storytelling would be perfect for a Mandalorian game. I mean, The Mandalorian seasons 1 & 2 are literally sci-fi westerns. Same for Book of Boba Fett, to a degree. However, unlike is normal for Rockstar... I want the campaign protagonist to be a custom character along with the RDO-esque online mode. If we did that, we could easily make our Mandalorian Online character a descendent or ancestor. Though, the only change from Red Dead that needs to be done is this: Don't fucking kill the main protagonist and force us to play as somebody else for the rest of it. I loved Arthur Morgan and hated playing as John Marston. Marston's chapters were incredibly boring, for the majority of it.

What’s interesting to me is that they don’t want to work on existing ips yet they’ve cancelled their own projects to try and make another better one (like BFV and Battlefront 2 to make 2042) and near often their own projects weren’t great either.

People have been doing that for many years now. (in some cases, decades) EA even won "worst gaming company" a while back for their Sim Cities fiasco.
Every time people give them the benefit of the doubt, and then it's like the public forgets what they've done since the early 2000s.
It is unfortunate, but we live in an extremely monetary focused world now more than ever. It isn't just games that got a price increase. Food, clothes, and everything else did as well.

Wow, im here early aha. I've learned, especially with Star Wars games, not to even bother getting excited until it's released or in your hands. Too many cancellations of great ideas or mishandlings of IPs.

If this is cancelled make a general grievous game where you start out as grievous when he became a cyborg and go and hunt jedis getting different lightsabers to swap out and use unlocking abilities as you play eventually going through the later events of the movies and ending on revenge of the sith dieing to obi wan it would also include some clone wars episodes

3:04 they are not developing Tianfall 3 as they want to continue working on Apex Legends as it earns them way more money than Titanfall ever has. Also, I can completely see why they’d prioritise TF3 over a Star Wars game because it’s grown to be a huge game series among the TF and Apex community and would have a massive impact if it was released. The logical desicion would to be to work on both Star Wars games , TF3/TFL/Apex. The amount of money and love they’d generate from this would be absurd. But instead they cancel the good shit like the Star Wars fps and TF3 and TFL for no reason and prioritise one game like Apex since they know it already makes them money. They’re seriously so out of touch.
I just want more Star Wars that aren't just Jedi (seriously even a few modern Darkside options would be a nice change of pace). I enjoy the games where I play as just a soldier. Hell I'd be happy if the made a remake of SWG. More starfighter games would be nice too, Squadrons has a great bedrock for any game they make in StarWars where flight is needed. There's so much in Starwars but they think no one will bite unless they get a glowstick. Was just talking to my friends how it would be cool to see some variation of HD2 in the SWTOR era, drop in as a squad of Pubs or Imps dealing with huge swaths of enemies and if you get a frontline mission have a chance of running into an enemy squad. Hell, give me some RTS, I love EAW but would love to see something fresh with new systems and ideas for the modders to go to hell on. Even the VR scene barely got a pinky toe into Star Wars waters, yet modders are going to town making the experiences I actually want in other games. Half their failures (looking at you BF2) was because they themselves couldn't think of a fair and reasonable way to make extra money that wasn't exploitative and got called out and now their BF2 is a beloved game by many.
I mean at least we are still getting Jedi 3 but still this is very upsetting and EA has to the dumbest video game company ever if they can't see see or fathom how much money a fps mandolorion game would make them

I can get the rationale of wanting to put development into their own IP rather than pay royalties to Disney/other rights holders. But they are still making Jedi games… so obviously it isn’t a deal breaker.
I assume they really just want to focus on finding the next live service cash cow, and developing two separate more single player focused titles was just not worth it in their eyes.

Honestly I would of needed a game like this I love the republic commando game but after years of playing it I have just gotten too familiar with the missions and gameplay. A single player game with a multiplayer aspect or even without focusing on the clone wars or even expand it to the early years of empire while the commandos were still used by palpatine would be an amazing game.
Yeah I would love a new Republic Commando game, that game was a game I enjoyed and would love to see a new one with the battlefront 2 armors in it, due to republic commando that's why I always usually play the commando in battlefront 2 because it looks so good, has the republic commando gun and really makes me feel happy playing it even if it's not the best strategy to play it!
“Giving experiences the Players Want” WE WANT a Battlefront 3 not a shitty COD Ripoff
As much as this sucks, I will argue two points:
1) At this point, I'd rather have other developers focus on Star Wars, as EA has totally fumbled the bag with Star Wars, so if they want to stay away from new series and only focus on existing franchises (like Jedi 3 and... Battlefront 3?), that's fine by me, because I don't want them anywhere near Star Wars outside of those things.
2) If this is what it takes for them to FINALLY make Titanfall 3, then I'll take it, honestly. For those unaware, Titanfall 2 was one of the best shooters released in the last 10 years, but it was screwed over by EA making the release schedule the same as COD and Battlefield (their OWN game). The community here is very familiar with EA screwing over high-quality shooter games, so hopefully you all can see why this would be such a big win (akin to Battlefront 3 mentioned above).
EA doesn't hold the star wars game contract if I remember correctly so let other studios handle star wars. EA dropping star wars is for the best as we've seen over the years.

EA just does not like being profitable, im almost convinced.
So there is a big reason why they announce games in development for reason and it's quite simple:
1. They put it out for investors for meetings to talk about upcoming projects.
2. They do it as an advertisement for workers who might be interested in the project.
And likely they canceled it as a tax writeoff since they projected it wouldn't be worth continuing the production which stinks.

Wasn't the exclusivity deal between EA and Lucas for Star Wars games coming up? If that deal is up then they can move on. So much the better, as EA is interested only in things that turn an instant profit and generate money. Which once they tasted that fruit they aren't interested in anything else. The Star Wars games take a lot of effort, management and oversight from Lucasfilm.
