💌 HIIII,
apologies if i wasn't able to get to your question 😢 the raw footage with just the material we discussed was 2 hours long, and as much as i wanted to get to everything, it just wasn't possible. feel free to leave questions in the comments and i'll do my best to answer them directly! i also would've loved to include an international or out-of-state student but i honestly don't know any that are transfers.. am very sorry!
also my bad for the horrid lighting as the video progressed.. i was not prepared for the filming to take so long and we started filming a bit before sunset. 😅
ONE MORE THING~
i feel like i've discussed everything to do with transferring at this point, so please refer to my past advice videos if you wanted to learn more about my specific coursework, what TAG/TAP is, honors, etc. i feel like i answer the same questions a looot and as much as i'd love to help, it's definitely gets very repetitive. i also linked all the resources above if you wanted to research on your own. ^_^

👧🏻 about me:
hi, i'm jessica! i'm a 4th yr, 2nd yr transfer at ucla majoring in math of computation (pretty much math and cs) :)
hi people - suroosh and jef
My greatest fear of transferring is imposter syndrome and feeling inferior that I didn't get into the school the same way the majority of others did. I don't know why tho.
it’s very common among transfers! just know you aren’t alone and do belong
The Nintendo switch start up and the AC NH edits 😍 I'm in love.
It was nice getting to know the people we see in your vlogs more. Love your vids!
thank you 🥺💕
Thank you sm for posting this! Im planning on transferring to UCLA in 2025, and I've been binge watching all UCLA transfer videos lol :) this one is super helpful!
Did you do 2 years CC? How’s it going? What major are u trying to do?
wow this video has so much amazing insight for students that are looking into transferring to UCLA. I was recently admitted as a math transfer and wish I knew about all these tips during cc!!
awww congrats!!!! 🥳🧸
this is so helpful. i plan on transferring in 2024, and i loveee to plan early haha! thank you so much. also, love your editing btw :)
aw thank you! good luck!!!!!
Such an informative video!! Great editing as well and good job to you and your friends!
thanks kunal :D
Covid had really messed up my college application process and as well as my confidence for college and currently in community and hoping to transfer in 2024 and this video gave me so much hope and boost of confidence ! Love it
you can do it! :)
Ahh thank you this was so helpful! I’m a senior in high school planning on going to CC and hopefully transferring to UCLA:)))
I love your editing!
thank you!:))
Omg your guy’s video and your description are great 😊
thank you! :)
This video is so cute and helpful. I love the animal crossing text bubbles :).
i’m heading to ucla this fall as a transfer and this was extremely helpful!
yayay congrats!!! :)) happy to hear it was helpful
Nice video, thank you for these tips !
💘💕
Hey just watched your video, and very unexpected I got into UCLA, happy with has happened as it is hard to get into any college of engineering for UC campuses.
I love the energy😂
my goal is to transfer to ucla in 2024 and watching your videos is so helpful and motivating 💘💗
YAY!! you can do it!! ❤️💕
Awesome video~ Thank you for the info. :"))
YAYY i hope it was helpful :,)
My son did IGETC and all the major specific stuff and lots of stuff you are saying and we’re waiting for college responses in next couple months! Omg so nerve wracking. He’s Hoping for UCLA. Congrats all of you!
good luck to your son!!! 🥰🙏
Omg ur friend Suroosh is also where I’m going to community college !
Thank you for this
yay!!:D
i’ve been super anxious thinking about transferring but im so glad i came across this video. i appreciate u guys for putting this video together and congrats on ur acceptance!!! im at cc rn with a 3.7 gpa and almost done fulfilling the TAP program. im hoping to transfer to ucla as a biochemistry major. im pretty much done with the igetc plan but i changed my major recently and now have 9 lower division major pre reqs left. ill definitely be done with more than half of them by spring quarter. but will having maybe 1-3 classes left. i was wondering if this would affect my chances of being admitted to ucla?
hi! i’m sorry but i don’t think i can answer this question well because of the nature of the luck and randomness involved with college admissions 😅 i will say chances are maximized when you do complete all pre reqs, so it may affect you. but there are also many other variables involved that i can’t give you a clear cut answer, for ex. you did finish tap, and if you have good ECs or essays then it may not affect you at all. all in all i’d say don’t worry too much about the things you can’t control, and focus on the things you can like your essays! and try to finish as many pre reqs as you can as well, 1 isn’t so bad, whereas 3 would probably affect your chances more.
Did you get in ?
Did u get in
I have the same stats as Suroosh, but I’m applying for chemical engineering. I just submitted my UCs apps rn too so 😅
Hi! You guys seem super sweet and this video was really insightful. I finished all my PIQs and uc TAP early, but when it comes to the essays I want them the best they can be. You mentioned PIQ workshops, where would I find those? Thanks!
hi!! sorry for the late response, i missed this comment. congrats on finishing your essays early! so those workshops we mentioned are actually courses that you register for at the start of fall semester, at this point it'd be too late. i recommend looking for any walk-in workshops your college or the honors program may be hosting, as well as asking people (mostly counselors and professors you trust) to read your essays!
Thank you for the video! Im currently at De Anza college and I am planning to transfer soon! Hi Cece is there a way I can contact you since we have similar backgrounds ? :)
What day do transfers usually get their decision in April?
❤️
🤍🤍🤍
Hi I’m wanting to apply as a cs major from cc I don’t know if I should go in as cs or applied math pls respond asap I’ve talked to my friends but idk what to do.
Cs with applied math second
As a transfer student into any of the math fields, is it possible to switch majors still into CS with a high gpa or is it no longer an option?
Yes, they did it.
@@Dextermxck so you can go into lets say math & comp and then switch majors once u get into UCLA to CS?
If I transfer from my State College which is in another state instead of going straight to UCLA do you think I'd save money?
you would save money yes, but at that point i recommend just transferring from a community college. transferring from a state is actually more difficult because you're already at a 4 year. you also would save more money by going to a cc rather than a state first!
does igetc really set me apart from other applicants?
i’m currently a bio major so i have a lot of classes to do for my major and the honors program already and i’m taking maximum credits per semester at cc so that i can transfer in two years. if igetc really does set me apart ig i can take an extra year of cc to finish it up.
I didn’t finish my igetc and still got admitted
👍
I'm questioned about completing IGETC as an STEM electrical engineering applicant. If I completed IGETC I will end up with 92 transfer units. I've heard about people talking about they get rejected because the have excessive units
Been thinking of the same issue, need help for this fr, did you end up finding an answer?
@@lilpinky5303 Bty I'm doing EE. But I think completing the IGETC is still good. Maybe you don't need to take any GE's after you transfer. But completion of IGETC doesn't help your admit rate. Your GPA, Extracurriculars and essays is the key.
@@lilpinky5303 I am not completing the IGETC due to it will take me third year in CC. My personal plan is only 2 years. If I have time, sure I completing IGETC.
