    What do conventional bite ramps on upper canines do?
    If I had them on my initial set of trays, but my new trays after doing a scan refinement don’t have them, what does that mean? Should I request them on my new trays?

    Thank you for the helpful information! I really enjoy and appreciate your videos ❤️ I’ve had 4 bite ramps on my upper central and lateral incisors since day one, however I don’t have a deep bite. If my lower anterior teeth need to be shifted inwards so that they’re not hitting the backs of my uppers, and one of my upper lateral incisors needs to shift outward due to underbite in that one spot, is it typical to use upper front bite ramps?

    • @TrayMinder
      @TrayMinder  Před 3 lety +3

      You’re welcome. There are some other uses for bite ramps besides deep bites and one of them is if you have an anterior cross bite. It is to open your bite so that one or more teeth can cross over to correct the cross bite.

    • @coshkie
      @coshkie Před 3 lety +1

      @@TrayMinder That makes a lot of sense - I do have an anterior cross bite as my lower midline is off. I'm thankful for you! I think that would also explain why my bite is now a little open with aligners in.

  • @jackiesmith7904

    Initially, my lower teeth rested on the bite ramps, and it would hurt to pull my jaw in to place my bottom teeth behind the ramps. Now, after several sets of trays with bite ramps, my bottom teeth naturally fall behind the ramps as there has been so much shiftin my teeth. Now it takes effort and is uncomfortable to extend my bottom teeth to rest on the ramps. Once there has been this much shifting in my teeth, should I be placing my bottom teeth on the ramps, or resting them behind the ramps. Thank you.

    Dr. Bailey thank you for your awesome videos. I am on tray 6 of 37. The first 5 trays did not have bite ramps behind the top teeth today when I put on my 6th tray I noticed the bumps attached to the back of the upper teeth. When I looked at your video I knew they were bite ramps. Question : is it common practice to have the bite ramps appear after not having any in the first five aligners? They are very uncomfortable and My ortho did not inform me that the top teeth would have bumps on them after the first few did not. Thank you very much !

    • @TrayMinder
      @TrayMinder  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks, I’m glad to hear that the videos have been helpful. Bite ramps can commence later if your bottom teeth will not make contact with them until later stages (usually with bite correction via class 2 elastics or alignment of teeth).

    Hello, i got a question since im a bit confused now i was at the Ortho, i got an overjet of approx (6mm) and an overbite of 85-90%, she asked me if i want both arches to be corrected or if top would be enough (she also told me that if i want to correct both arches i have to get the usual braces and this would take years in my case cause my backteeth/jaw is a bit weird at the bottom) since im fine how my lower teeth look and dont have any bite issues i just want to get straither teeth (for veneers) and close my diastema (3.5-4mm) at the top arch, im wondering now cause i saw many cases on youtube/google and they always do upper and lower and never just one arch?
    and since i have a very deepbite/overbite im a bit worried now, is it even possible to correct an overbite with just invisaglin on the top arch?
    ty in advance

    How long would u say for the bite ramps to take effect? I have been wearing the trays with ramps for around 4 months now so far my front teeth are still not been pushed up ?

    • @TrayMinder
      @TrayMinder  Před 3 lety

      It depends on the severity of your deep bite, whether you have growth potential, your musculature, vertical face height, mandibular plane angle, etc. Deep bites can easily take over a year or more to correct in adults. Sometimes lower braces and/or TADs are needed for intrusion. Your orthodontist is the best person to ask. Good luck with your treatment.

    Hey so I just got invaslign today and I have bumps on the top of my bottom and top mollar alligners that don’t let my teeth/alligners touch when I close my mouth. Am I supposed to move my bottom jaw forward which makes the gap smaller bc I do have an overbite

    • @TrayMinder
      @TrayMinder  Před 5 lety

      Hi there, this question is best answered by your orthodontist/dentist. Invisalign does have a feature called mandibular advancement, which encourages the patient to move their bottom jaw forward to correct an excess overjet (horizontal distance between between the top front teeth and bottom front teeth).

  • @melarenee308
    @melarenee308 Před 4 lety

    Will bite ramps make an over or open bite worse since its opening the bite more?

    • @TrayMinder
      @TrayMinder  Před 4 lety

      Usually bite ramps on the front teeth help to open the bite, thus correcting the deep bite. Rarely bite ramps or attachments are added on the back teeth to intrude (push teeth toward the gums) the back teeth, thus correcting the open bite.

    • @TrayMinder

      Best to ask your doctor. Ideally the lower incisors rest one the bite ramps but that isn’t always possible, especially if you have a large overjet.

    • @TrayMinder

      Bites can be improved at any age. 19 is very young. Bite ramps help to improve deep overbite, which is the vertical overlap of your front top and bottom teeth.
