  • While at Winter NAMM 2015, luthier Ren Ferguson provides the inside scoop on Guild guitars that will soon to be made in Oxnard, California. As head of manufacturing of the plant, owned by Cordoba Music Group, Ferguson is excited about bringing back models like the M20 and the D20. His goal is to create instruments that are a tremendous bargain and every bit as good as those made in Guild’s former New Hartford, Connecticut, facility.

I have always loved the Guild brand.Built solid bold bright clean sound that projected no harshness.Their moniker says it all Built to be played.I surely hope they keep the same perspective as the orginal models have. But I do question as to why someone's are out sourced to China obviously for cost benefits. One would question the materials that China uses in the product as is labor issues. But as a fond admirer of the GUILD brand I wish everyone involved the best foot forward in the company's endeavors.PS One last note being a follower of Guild would like to see the one of two logo designs in the past used is the Chesterfield and the newer Guild Shield are not on display Ed anymore, I miss that identity that song bold look...bring it back.Just my opinion.
