  • The 2024 Toyota Tacoma has reached mid life and we want to know if it's in crisis or if everything is fine. The Tacoma has been around for a long time and has been a staple in the truck world, but was Toyota able to maintain and hold that name to the same standard with the all new 2024 Tacoma? It has a new look, a new engine, and some new great features. Join Jared this week, as he freezes for the sake of the 2024 Toyota Tacoma to see if it not only stands tall on its own, but against its competitors.
    Jared checks out a few Toyota firsts, takes it for a drive and even runs into an old friend along the way. There is a lot to like and appreciate about the new Tacoma, but surely there must be something wrong with it? What do we think about it, but also what do Tacoma real Tacoma drivers think about it. Either way, we hope you watch our review and check out this 4x4 with us.
    *Thanks to Forbes Waterloo Toyota for letting us review this 2024 Toyota Tacoma*

    You’re right about the packages. Toyota offers about a 100 it seems and you don’t get to pick. They just build different variants and you try to find once as close to your desires as possible. At least that’s how it works in the states.

    • @HoodSlappersOfficial
      @HoodSlappersOfficial  Před 3 měsíci

      Same here in Canada. The steps aren’t gradual and the features seem scattered. We love the truck, it’s just picking the one that fits best.

    I have a Tacoma coming, I can appreciate people liking or disliking the new Tacoma, but when they complain about reliability when it’s only been out for a couple months it’s just ignorant.

    • @HoodSlappersOfficial
      @HoodSlappersOfficial  Před 3 měsíci

      Fair point. Every Tacoma driver I know loves their Tacomas for the longevity and reliability. We don’t see why the difference in the 2024 would be so bad.
      Thanks for watching.

    Great review. V6 or Turbo 4? I'm not in the market but am looking forward seeing the Stout

    • @HoodSlappersOfficial
      @HoodSlappersOfficial  Před 3 měsíci

      Thank you so much. See, we never had the privilege of driving the previous generations Tacoma, so we can’t really say which is better. Having said that, V6 or not, the 4cylinder turbo was fantastic.
      What part of the world are you from? We are from Canada. It’s doubtful we will see it. Fingers crossed though.

    The new tacoma is a let down not because its bad but how much they are asking for them here in calgary they want 65k for a trd sport so i went with a 2024 colorado zr2 for 61k

      It's tough Carl. We know what you mean. Prices on all vehicles are getting out of hand and the "base model" affordable car has been thrown out the window. It's a nice truck, but it comes with a high price tag.

    Taco is a great truck, except the "Rubbermaid" interior 🤷‍♂️

    The look is great, the abilities are also awesome, it probably will keep its resale value as the previous gen Tacomas. I agree it is a great truck, but it is stupidly expensive. I hate Ford, but I think the Ranger makes the most sense if you are in the market for a mid-size truck.

    • @HoodSlappersOfficial
      @HoodSlappersOfficial  Před 3 měsíci

      It’s hard because everything automotive has shot up in the last few years. Long are the days of a “cheap truck”. The Ranger used to be the overpriced vehicle.

    • @user-fp9rv2bn6f
      @user-fp9rv2bn6f Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@HoodSlappersOfficial I simply will choose not to buy an expensive truck. Anyways, most of my vehicles were rear ended by someone multitasking, texting and driving or looking elsewhere but the road ahead. Then the insurance companies drive you crazy fixing your car with aftermarket parts and when you go to trade your vehicle later they tell you that your vehicle eorths half what it should have because it was involved in an accident. So what is the point buying a 60 or 70 thousand dollars vehicle and few years later worths nothing.

    • @HoodSlappersOfficial
      @HoodSlappersOfficial  Před 3 měsíci

      Understandable. Especially your comment about insurance companies. In the last two years the horror stories from insurance issues is absolutely insane.

    Does the engine really look like that?? No cover over anything?

    • @HoodSlappersOfficial
      @HoodSlappersOfficial  Před 3 měsíci

      That’s what I said!!!! Yes, no cover. It’s too bad. I know it’s nothing practical, but there is something about a nice engine cover that really completes a car or truck.

    tacoma has dropped it's reliability and durability status and replaced it with a big screen and bells and whistles for the bubble gum crowd. it is now just another highly over priced mall crawler.

    I ordered the TRD Off Road. Would be nice to have the JBL Audio except for the blue tooth speaker on the dash???? In my City that wouldn't last more than a couple days due to some loser smashing the window to get the removable speaker? I don't know what they were thinking?
