One wrong slip, one second late, one moment of getting stuck and you are going to get sliced in half and die because trains don’t stop just after a few seconds like cars
Americans have a LONG LONG way to go before their train system is anywhere near the level of European or Japanese high speed rail. This is not even "high speed" lol.

Amtrak rolls through here at about 60 MPH normally. Sometimes, they don't hit the brakes until they are IN Oceanside station. I ride between OSD and SAN all the time.
