  • Hey everyone I know it been awhile since uploading a video. But today I wanted to make a video that’s long overdue for the Eureka Crono giving this awesome grinder the recognition it deserves! Hopefully you all find it informative and seeing why it’s my daily driver!

    Thanks for the video! I just picked this exact one up (same color too) and was looking for a dial reference point and it looks like I'm on the right track! Mine is just a hair above 0, but I'm already super impressed with how fine it's able to grind.

    Great vid. I bought this model for a second grinder I have the specialista but I do a lot of different coffees so the Crono will be for Italian single roast only.

    I bought one and it only does espresso. Honestly I have trouble going to a cafe or coffee shop. It's hard to find a shot of espresso I love more than what comes out of my home setup. The shot length is very consistent, so is the flavor. I prefer chocolate notes, I do not prefer nutty flavored shots. I am using medium to light locally roasted beans pretty exclusively.

    I just ordered a Eureka Filtro for $199 after getting a lot of conflicting info. Seattle Coffee Gear says it won't work for espresso. WholeLatteLove insists it will. Clive Coffee in Portland had 2 different people telling me opposite opinions. I really appreciate your vid and your mellow vibes, good content. I'm excited to dial it in!

    I'm considering getting the Filtro (the Chrono minus timer) as I can find it for about $200 (roughly converted) to begin my espresso at home. You're saying these burrs work alright for espresso as well then? Was initially thinking about a Sette 270, but it's $100 more and I've heard it has some reliability issues

    How does the eureka stack up to your 1zpresso JX Pro?

    • @CCCulture947
      @CCCulture947  Před 2 lety

      That’s a really good question. I’ve gone back and forth between which one I prefer in terms of taste profile. I feel that I like the taste of the 1zpresso more, but there are so close. I guess I’m more of a conical burrs flavor kinda guy but can’t beat the ease of the electric grinder.

    • @seeyouspacecowboy14
      @seeyouspacecowboy14 Před 2 lety

      I've actually been debating between the Chrono and the JX pro
      I hear the JX pro is really good but currently having a Hario grinder that takes 2 minutes or more sucks
      I have a flair manual machine rn but want a breville bambino plus
      The Jx says it can turn it out in like 30 to 40 seconds which is better than 2 minutes
      I just wonder how good of a consistency the Chrono has compared to the Jx or even the sette 270
      I also hear that earlier this year they were placed the Burr's on the Chrono to not be able to do espresso but plenty of people still have found models with them and apparently they offer the replacement original espresso geared Burr's on Amazon for like 30 bucks allegedly ?!
      I'm just wondering if I should just go with the $150 hand grinder or pay $250 and hopefully have the correct Burr's or have to pay $30 more just to not grind for 30 seconds by hand
      There's plenty of times where I have a few people over and I just want to pump out a bunch quickly
      Also I wonder what the lifespan of the Chrono is and if there's a lot of replacement parts just like baraatza offers

    • @jonnybowdenfitness9558
      @jonnybowdenfitness9558 Před 2 lety

      @@seeyouspacecowboy14 I was in your position with using a hario and it was painful how long it took to grind. the JX-pro does 16g in about 20-30s which is really manageable, I never find it much effort unlike the hario.
      You'll also be getting a better grind at a lower price than the other machines as it is focussed towards espresso (it can certainly grind fine enough.)
      The compromise is that it is bad for volume. I can get 2 coffees out of one full chamber of the JX-pro. When my family are around and im doing a few it does take longer than the sette or chrono would for sure.
      If making more than 1 or 2 espressos at a time is a deal breaker then a manual grinder might not be for you. But if you can't be dropping hundreds of $ on a grinder then they are absolutely the way to go for grind quality and bang for your buck, and the JX-Pro is fantastic.
