    Nice introduction and suggestions for the Single Malt begginars !! If I had to suggest I would include Glenmorangie 12 instead of Oban. Both are my favorite but Oban needs some experience to appreciate !! Great job as usual !!

    Why whiskey should cost all that much ? In fact, time and again ‘cheap’ everyday stuff competes favorably against some of the priciest bottles in the business.

    • @rafaelcarmo5562
      @rafaelcarmo5562 Před 3 lety

      I already thought this. Why does it cost so much? Firstly Is prodution costs. Second is aging (and storage) because it takes time to age whiskey and you have to store it in warehouses. Remember scotch has to age a mínimum of 3 years. So that is 3 years working without receiving a dime (but destillers now have bigger production size so they can afford it more) and it is not a necessary thing to live. Which makes it a hobby. A expensive one for the wallets who can afford that type of alcohol. It's the same as expensive cars. Only some people can afford them.
      Edit: But I find bottles over 80€ overpriced. Maximum 200 for special occasions.

      Amrut fusion is very good but it is a bit advanced whisky, maybe not best for all beginners because it is complex, bottled at 50% alcohol and has some smoky notes as well. Glenlivet, Glenfiddich and other MB mentioned are a more light and smooth tasting so easier for a beginner to enjoy.
