i sang this song at my high school graduation for the last prayer. It seems so appropriate to pray that He would let my life be a living prayer as I went out into the world. I love this song and everytime I hear it, I feel as if we are all truly blessed.
i can't let this pass without praising Allison & Union Station because they are just praise worthy for what they make & do-its not just pleases our minds & ears listening to them it goes well beyond that-our Spirits...i am a lover of music since i learned to listen but their band are among the few that makes the difference in the world of music...your all lovely Allison & Union Station!
I had this played as my wife was carried into church for her funeral, the church was full and the number of people who thought this a most beautiful song was just unreal, living in England very few have come across Alison mores the pity
We need to understand that those who are on the top in the music world also have their trials and heartaches, and only those who spend time in prayer can get over the obstacles that bar their way to peace and contentment. Alison exudes a faith when she sings that flows from God through her and out to the rest of us who also need that power and love from above to get through our trials.
There aren't many popular singers who could sing this song with minimal accompaniment and make it work so powerfully. Like Patsy Cline, Allison Krauss can hit and hold a pure note and also make it emotionally stirring. What a great artist. It just brings tears to my eyes listening to this.
Let's not forget the vessel through which this and other great inspirational songs sung by AK were birthed: Ron Block. It was truly Divine intervention which brought these two together to give us songs such as "A Living Prayer" and "There Is A Reason", among others.
Yes, and I got to meet the lovely man himself when I filmed this clip with Alison! It was one of the best days of my life - I got to film with Dolly Parton on the same day and she was lovely too! Then I had a Saturday night out in New York! Fantastic!
Wow, this seems so close and personal! I love the atmosphere this video spreads, it´s as if they were performing right here in my living room. Thanks so much!
It's AKUS, that's Alison Krauss and Union Station. Composed of Alison Krauss, Jerry Douglas on Dobro, Ron Block on Banjo, Barry Bales on bass, and Dan Tyminski on guitar. Now please note that "A Living Prayer" was written by Ron Block, as well "There Is A Reason". Don't be offended. Just wanted to note this is not Grand Union Station. This is a band. The only Grand I know is Grand Funk Railroad (smile). Appreciate the nice video so much. Thanks!
