Grubby: Vulcan is my FAVORITE unit!
Also Grubby: Whats the fire guy called? The big mechanical fire bot...
Being a noob in this game is so fun, as sometimes, even against advanced players, you win, because you're just too unpredictable.
This is so true 😂
Sometimes I just buy the biggest mech while they are trying to be smart splitting their forces, and that mech kills everything with regeneration ot lifesteal 😊
Thank you for the Mechabellum video, I bought this last year but don't have enough motivation to play it. Watching your gameplay somehow make me start playing it.
Today I win 3 time with a flanking level 8 Rhino. This game is so much fun 😆
Hahaha nice!
You can safely say that they felt rhino's horn on their backside
god i love when grubby randomly starts quoting classic lines
When you take the cards that modify units they apply to existing units.
So taking mass produced overlord make your existing overlord weaker. Conversely, getting an improved unit card is great when you have existing units.
Yeah, Hurt him a fair bit to take it so early. Made his expensive early game investment worse, for a benefit several rounds later.
But it is of course always easier to see errors in others, I'm certain I have similar blindspots.
Good rule of thumb is: don't take Mass-Produced reinforcement if you already have that unit on the board. It also gets weakened, but you've already paid full price for it.
Mr Grubby, as a fan of yours since I was a kid watching your replays on WC3 and having followed you for IDK how long. The fact you're picking up mechabellum is the sickest timeline yet. You have no idea just how amazing this game is, it really truly is a hidden gem and I think if you're enjoying it as much as you seem to be so far; you're only going to end up loving it more and more as you as you progress. Have fun learning and don't be afraid to get creative. See you in 500 hours like the rest of us. Best of luck :)
Borrowing repeatedly may seem good at the moment but it really sets you back in the long run. You should really only burrow if it makes a huge difference, for example if you think you would win the game with just a bit more, or avoid taking a lot of damage with just a another upgrade or unit.
FYI its "borrow" :)
"Burrow" means digging into the ground.
@@Tyrgalon I know, I made a mistake there
I think the reason to do it round 1 is if you get a giant out it can start leveling up early and become an out of control bulldozer, assuming it doesn't get countered on round 1...
@@YamiAi I mean, it still works with burrow. Sandworms aren't great.
I am playing this game cuz of u Grubby! Just place 2nd in my 1st tourny!
Loving the strategy of this haha.
Approaching 700 MMR! I like to go 2 chaff and upgrade attack and damage of all units at the tower with fast supply.
Just letting you know that you got me buying this game, ty for the showcase grubby)
Saber tanks and mustangs both have anti-missile upgrades. They counter missiles, stormcallers, and somewhat overlords by shooting down enemy missiles before they deal damage. Sabers when upgraded and regen purchased can tank a ton if not vs anti-large.
Also consider hitting the buy tier 2 units for round at times. Finally, consider hackers - especially with range and "recover full hp" upgrades if enemy is spamming large frontline units or getting greedy with meltingpoints. In combo with your fortresses or vulcans, this can burn them down more effectively and put them to use fighting for you... which buys time to convert their next melting point.
I just want to say you made me addicted to Mechabellum such that i dont even open Dota anymore 😊 , such a good game
You made me play this game and I am already addicted neglecting my sleep. Thank you!
now I just watch to see Grubby crack the code and become godly at any game he plays. He beat A20 with a heart kill on slay the spire so quick it seemed insane to me.
As a long time player this is both painful and exciting to watch. Im just happy to see new people getting into the game and seeing them enjoy it
When you're a veteran player those videos can be painful to watch :) Still entertaining to see you have fun. I wonder how much you'd enjoy the game if you actually learned the mechanics and some basic dos and don'ts.
Looks like a really cool game Grubby! Gonna have to try it.
Remember the Roman era game "Pretorians" that was a similar concept back in the day? Albeit with some building / campaign map sections of the game. And - even before you, Grubby, might remember ... an ancient Dos game called "Realms" that was *awesome* ... kinda a precursor to Warcraft! Orcs vs Humans, when you build units from towns and then fight in autoresolved visual battles. You could equip them with better swords, shields etc!
This game reminded me of Realms! :D
I bought this game today after watching several Grubby videos. I'm enjoying seeing Grubby getting his cheeks spread in this match.
Yeah you like that?
@@GrubbyPlays I just learned that you can change the camera height in the game: Settings / max camera height.
Headline Vulcan favorite unit.
In the game Mustang is my favorite unit
one tip - always MORE CHAFF!!! if you want build 1 cf - build 3 cf more!
You can change tech of units in the main menu customization - different "skills"
the best thing is - rinos aren even close like thors - fortress maybe are
also i think grubby has a contract that allows him to only do blizzard content so he has to bring starcraft music and talk about thors so he can claim it was blizzard content.
You made me reinstall this game yesterday. Forgot how sweet it was.
ah, my favorite unit, Firelord Vulcanaros
i'm really enjoying watching you play this game i might pick it up seems very fun
Awesome, enjoy!
FYI, you should not put squads in a column facing the enemy but in a line instead. That way all units shoot at once on contact, not just the first few. That's really some basic strategic knowledge.
Column is a marching formation only!
jebaited with those wasps
Underground threat and Wasp Swarm are great spells. you should really try to learn how to use them. they can easly win a round mid game by distracting big units or stuff like that
I have actually a theory that the first 2 rounds wining isnt that important, because it deal so little hp. My point being rather then trying to win those rounds at all cost, its maybe better to setup nicely for the following ones.
If he calls Rhinos Thors what does he call the Fortress? I'll bet he calls it a Planetary.
The "A" in fang is a long "A" like the A in "crazy". if you use a soft "A" it sounds like... something else... something naughty. fyi
That sounds like total nonsense to me
Love me some Mekki B!
Elite specialist is bonkers. Being able to skip level 1 on all recruits is a huge deal.
Edit: Not getting personal shield with a vulcan on the field was painful :D
But very prone to being flanked and overrun
@@Don_Corben I don't think so. You outgun everything for almost no cost. You're essentially buying two units every time you buy one (double stats). Sure they can get a few more units, but if they have like 1-2 extra cheap units, and your 10 units are actually 20 units vs his 12, flanking isn't going to help. You should have some units on the flanks anyway which will deal with a random flank placement.
(somewhat simplified since of course both players will have leveled outside of this)
The problem with elite specialist, from what I've heard, is that any chaff you buy starts at level 2. More money for something that gives more exp to your opponent.
@@chrism.1421 Chaff in itself is dangerous when leveled and placed correctly. It's not like chaff in tabletop warhammer where you have a bunch of skavenslaves that do literally nothing besides bog things down.
So, you can do the same opening with the Giant specialist and still have the rest of your giant unlocks for free
yep, I realized this later lol. which means early supply spec can NEVER be used this way xD
TECH POINTS! Use them to open new tech
He is improving alot, he knows the counters and the strats now. But he still has one glaring weakness of new players and that is tunnel visioning one counter into the next instead of improving what he has on field. Had he gotten chaffs and double down on overlord much sooner it'd be much easier. But I god damn love noob games, they have all the fun. Just balls to the wall drop whatever where ever, or going for perfect symmetry. It's fun, way more fun than dried up high tier game. Same in starcraft.
The music is way too loud for me in most videos
Lol this game with its terran music wtf
try 2x2 game it is much more fun
Taking crawlers instead of the snipers was painful to watch, snipers would have countered the enemys actual killing power the rhinos and phoenixes.
Borrowing money round one ? Questionable
Why is there no elden ring Vids?
On break, I will maybe continue in some months
@@GrubbyPlaysaaah, I just caught up on ER - breaks my heart, but I also yearn for DOS2 and BG3. At the end of the day, Grubby has to play what he wants...that's what makes him worth watching.
