I carry a short peice of electric solder with me in case a wire were to come loose, and they will. This SOTO will work as a solder iron by heating the wires. So more than one use for sure.

Hi Mark, I use the UK turboflame butane lighter in my brew kit, size is more compact. Now there is a small trick when it comes to butane lighters, before re-filling the lighter is worth to bleed off excess air that builds up in the reservoir. Soto roughly translates to Outdoors.

Nice to the point review Mark. Looks good but to expensive. I guess the Chinese have or will copy it and bring out a cheaper version, that might blow up and cremate my Husqvarna while riding through the bush :)
    Positives +
    1) Longer reach to light a fire in more difficult situations without burning ones thumb on a cigarette lighter.
    2) Can solder with it.
    3) Better for electrical heat shrinking.
    4) Refillable
    Negatives -
    1) The crazy price of the Soto and the refill adaptor.

Thank you for going over this. I just bought a Soto lighter and realised too late I need an adapter too! A bit of a faff, but I bought it for the aesthetic. Don’t judge me! 😅👋🇬🇧

I have had windproof lighters like this before. I have noticed that they tend to have the miss fires more often and the after-burn when you have them turned up to the highest level. How does that one do at 2/3 or 1/2 on the flame size? Nice to see that you found another use for the adapter I sent you.

Soto is a very good firm everything they make is well made l have the lighter were you can use a cheap lighter, they make the best screw on cartridge camping cookers wind proof, ( no other can beat it) it's called the soto windmaster 2 mins for 2 cups of water regards Barrie

Just refill with the indoor stove style butane can - don't put adapter. The nozzle tip fits perfectly.

  • @nyrbsamoht

great lighter not cheap - but mine wont fill up anymore using the adapter
my brother then bought one and he had the problem that the flame would not go out (returned and refunded)
was great while it worked but it seems its a problematic lighter. not what you would expect from a brand like soto
