im sure part of the problem with the TT imports is TORQUE, remember this isn't 60MPH roll racing, this is from a dig where torque does matter, im a Ford guy but i won't deny the import success however they are at a marked disadvantage in a drag race
You need to remember these guys race the 1/8th mile, not the 1/4 (where the GTR finally can put that power down)... And besides Farm Truck, NONE of these cars are "street" cars. They're all single purpose, go fast cars that are trailered everywhere, while the GTR (and Farm Truck) can actually be driven on the road.
First and for most the show is not reality.. It is scripted drama. The cars on the show spend their time at paid appearances or part of the Sponsor agreement and filming the show.. Such as FarmTruck at PRI for NX.. The sponsors pay big bucks to have their product, their logo and their apparel seen during filming.. So these cars are more TV show cars than drag racing cars these days. The sole purpose now is to keep them in good shape exclusively for the tv show and minimize the risk damaging them outside of that agenda.
This car was meant to do more than just drag race. The GTR is the best bang for the buck for all out performance. I hope a custom built big block Chevy drag car would beat it...

it actually says hand built BY tuan ho. nissan r35 gtr engines the vr38dett are hand built by one nissan 5 master engine builders in japan to put out as close too 540 hp as possible from the factory. every gtr engine has one of those plates on it with the name of the guy who built the engine

Also notice it says GT1R in the logo, because it was built by T1 Race Development in Texas. No gtr stands a chance against these guys. They're too heavy. I think if someone in an import wants to step to these guys, they're gonna need like a 1000hp cappuccino or something. These guys are fast as hell. And it really hurts to say that.

Murder nova is pretty dam up to date. Along with doc, daddy Dave, chuck, and chiefs new GTO. Those are top notch outlaw cars and chucks car is pretty much X275 car just put some radials on it. This gtr is nice but discovery channel don't know shit. Telling people what to say

It's boosted,he needs time to spool or a diff setup & tune,thats all. HP isn't everything,but people that don't know shit about cars don't know this. A 200hp car can destroy a 400 HP car in a 1/8 or 1/4 mile,its all gearing,tuning & weight.

Too scared to show an import roll on those $100.000+ v8,plenty of imports that have amazing 60ft times that would crush those cars from a dig or a roll in 1/8. It happens every weekend at the track. Though I love my 99 Lude,my dream is to build our 69 Camaro but its much cheaper to just maintain my import thats just as quick. I know many muscle cars out here that have over 60k & 80k into them that cannot run better times than a 50k Supra or Type R Integra. Facts

I love street Outlaws but this is what is BS about that show,they claim they're the fastest street cars but they won't run any imports? That's Puzzy shiz, in Ohio or Eastcoast alone we have tons of 9 sec Toyota,Honda and Nissans ,boosted & Fast N/A cars that would not only be amazing to watch on the show but would move up that list,I guess that's why they refuse to run imports. It's just getting old watching Chevy vs Ford every ep,we want to see a 800hp Honda 5th gen Prelude roll on all those Mustangs on the show,especially the Gold stang,I run them all the time N/A and people over 40 cannot believe a 99 Honda w a little tuning can roll on a Vortec Supercharged Foxbody,bernies GTR is 3x faster so...I'm thinking people would rather see that this season. Most imports can't touch the cars (and Sonoma truck) on Street Outlaws. They race 1/8th mile and their rides are capable of mid 4 to low 5 second 1/8th mile passes. The 7 second LMR twin turbo F-body got crushed. Your 9 second Imports would lose badly. I'd like to see some import guys step up. Maybe a light DSM or really nice Supra could have a good showing. I know of some rotary cars that move. It really seems that the Import guys aren't willing to put the call out.
I'm on forums where the OKC guys and some really fast Import guys post. So far, the import crowd hasn't stepped up to challenge. Could be cost, ego, or a lack of interest. I can't answer why. Where there's a will, there's a way. I've seen no will so far. When 600+ cubic inch domestics are on 3 stages of nitrous there aren't that many "street raced" imports in the country that I'm aware of that are up to challenging them.
