- Finally managed to get onto the new Monster SP courtesy of a good friend, a Ducatista, the legend Wayne Calver.
This ride was a mix of town riding, B-roads and A-roads testing the Monster SP in all the typical UK road conditions and giving it a proper review against my riding experiences of the Hyper SP.
Massive thanks to Wayne for trusting me and letting me ride his Monster SP. Wayne has both the Monster SP and Hyper SP which he will be looking to sell soon.

Sick intro! Really loving your channel mate. Haven’t missed an upload!
Thanks Bro.. appreciate it 🤛🏼🤛🏼
Great video, really enjoyed it,take care as always 😊😊😊😊👍🏻
Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻
Hade mine for 2 months. Incredible machine.
Good stuff.. great bit of kit for the money with a touch of Gucci 😎
Just doesn’t seem to be a Monster without the trellis frame. Or at least the frame being distinct somehow. I’m my opinion. Other wise nice bike and would love to own one if money was no concern
Seems to be a common opinion.. but once you on it its a great little bike
Did the throttle feel super unresponsive/delayed? I got one as a demo bike while my Hyper 1100 SP had some work done.. couldn’t wait to give it back. Was comfy though.
Didn’t find it delayed.. its a touch lets say tame compared to Hyper (V-twin vs L-twin) - just made everything smoother
@@hypermotardking I was riding the non SP version so maybe it’s a little different. The throttle had a heap of play/deadband in it before anything actually happened off idle. Gave it a really cheap feeling unfortunately.
even I am tempted to test ride that now
You should... The weight saving has made it so agile
@@hypermotardking plus that sculptured seat , seems like it’s a really good bike from a ergonomics perspective
When the chain is just a bit to tight you get those mis shifts
A bit a shame that you have to pay extra if you want the race termignoni
@@supertjeduc the shift lever has soooo much play.. if my foot was at 6 o’clock id have to raise it to 12 for upshift to engage
@@hypermotardking i have the cnc racing rearsets no play in those
This vs your hyper 698? I have an rve on order but am considering this as well. I ride similar to how you do if it helps for context
This will have a bit more punch being same engine as the 950 but its alot lighter than the 950 and more nimble.. good for short people
@@hypermotardking but in terms of how it compares to your 698, would you still prefer the single cylinder vs twin?
Nice not seen a sp here yet, nice it hase a steering damper also
Its got a few nice touches.. properly tricked for hard road use as its so light
How were the 1st 2nd gear wheelies on this thing compared to the hyper?
Well i’m not really a wheelie person.. but with it being a bit lighter it should come up easy
If you don’t mind how tall are you brother? Your feet were flat so was wondering.
I’m 5ft 7… the monster is a great bike for short people
I dont get why people say this is a tall bike. It’s not.. it’s so small hahaha
Its proper tiny and im only 5ft 7
@@hypermotardking yep im 5”10
Is that a gauscian blur? Lol.
No idea what that means 😂😂
You should try the ktm 890 duke r
I know 1st hand that bike is stupid fast.. had a good battle with one on a track day 🔥
@hypermotardking probably the most flickable bike ive ever ridden, although ive not ridden a hyper
Why is it you keep comparing it to the Hypermotard?
Thats my only reference.. its got a similar engine but much smoother delivery
What the hell is he driving ? Ah streetfighter i see
Yeah.. the new 2023 SFV4s.. probably the only bike I’d swap my Hyper for
