I found the same results, better performance, I am getting around 280-295fps with mine. The set up I use is the 1.6 250mm spring and a 450mm barrel, and Worker Bamboos. Its perfect for thos 300fps cap days.
Did you notice a loss of air seal with the upgraded parts. I compared my stock parts to the upgraded saber parts and tested the air seal. With the saber parts I have a 2 second air seal, but with the stock parts I have a way longer air seal.
No I did not notice it, and have not tested which has longer air seals. I usually just do a customary quick test and hold for about 3 seconds, and if there is decent air seal within that time, it is good enough for me. Maybe recheck the assembly, the O-ring, lube generously... The usual stuff. 🙂
Anyone else ordered this set? I ordered it locally where Sabre is based, the lead time is super long, kind of bummer. Hopefully more alternatives will be out soon so with won’t have only one choice.
Update: Testing was done by the community for this particular BR plunger and results were not great. __________ I think Black Raisins may be experimenting with or releasing an alternative plunger (metal?) that is lighter than the default plastic one. You may wish to check with them for more details. 🙂
Would the metal plunger truly improve the longevity of the blaster? Initially, I wanted to get one but I've heard that the metal plunger would slam harder onto the blaster as compared to the lighter Delrin plunger which would decrease the durability of the blaster. Could you provide some info on this? Thanks
Good question. Let's put it simply: All blasters wear out with usage over time. The default plunger and catch plate (which are part of the blaster) breaking/wearing out fast seemed to be the more immediate issue for using stronger springs. So metal parts were made to solve that issue, and they seemed to boost consistency and FPS by a bit too. Yes, metal will lead to plastic parts cracking/breaking/wearing out over time, but this is a natural trade-off one has to accept, be it metal spring on plastic plunger/catch, or metal plunger on plastic shell. Ultimately, with all these different materials/parts being made available, you have more choices and control over which part of the blaster you expect to wear out first, depending on the FPS level you play at. 🙂
Yes, and he did mention it may be due to the spring being worn out. My testings were done with a brand new spring. Another possible issue could be the smaller air volume of the seagull versus the harrier, when interacting with the heavier metal plunger rod. Not exactly a like-for-like comparison, since my testings were for the harrier. Overall it will be worth it to get the metal upgrade. 🙂
Nice... Throw a barrel comparison in the mix 👍🏼
Maybe. 🙂

I’m new to this but would the 1.6 x 300mm spring give a higher fps? I’d want to hit that range or 300+ with my seagull so im curious

Hi, where can I get these 2 metal parts for my harrier? Thanks
You can google sabre metal plunger or sabre metal catch. Pick the seller/distributor depending on where you are, for best shipping rates.

I just ordered the plunger for the Seagull wanna see if I can get 200fps with the included long spring to save my elbow😅
I feel your elbow pain. 🥲
It’s weird, my friend lost about 10fps changing to the metal plunger on the seagull. He was using long spring but was getting under 170fps
Maybe recheck the air seal or the o-ring. And lubricate generously. 🙂
Also check out Bradley Phillips' comprehensive seagull videos.
@@AaronPlinks The Seagull also lost fps in Bradley Phillips' testing

1:09 the catch looks really worn down. Is there any issues with yours nowadays?
It does not look pretty on the surface after firing many shots, but it is just cosmetic. Still works ok now.
The red mags are from OOD?
Yes. 🙂
@@AaronPlinks me too. Thought of getting more but OOD is out. Not sure if they will replenish the stock
They will. Maybe drop them an email to ask them.
What bcar is that? Can you share a link?
It's a 3D-printed 10 degree 32 bearings scar, covered and protected by a CNC metal mock silencer. From taobao.
@@AaronPlinks Thanks!! The mock silencer looks fantastic! If it’s from Taobao, it will be quite difficult to get it in the US, then…
No worries. I'm sure there are ways to ship it. The only barrier is probably language.
