One thing you could do to save your CPU, especially when you're recording is to just bounce down your middies to audio. Analog lab and those types of plug-ins take a hell of a lot of CPU and if you ever need your middies, you can always export them, that's what I do anyways
Yes thanks. Can I also suggest Tools > Macros > Misc > Switch Smart Disable For All Plugins. This makes a big difference when using many different resource heavy plugins.
Big yes to this. It's super easy to do now in FL too to bounce your midi. Literally saves me like 50-80 percent on my CPU just by doing that
Bruh as soon as I open both fabfilter and ozone the CPU starts cursing at me lol
@@prodbydexter2485 if you can get a i9 with 24 cores
the best thing she could do is save up and get a i9 with 24 cores problem solved
Thank you for sharing this!!! Much love to you lollipop. Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks for sharing! Lots of really good information in this video as well as the comments below. Keep being amazing and putting out those awesome beats. BANG ON THAT 808!!!
I don't know about mastering but all i use is soundgoodizer and soft clipper on my master😎💯
I think the first step prior to mixing should be proper gain staging. Every channel should be dropped down by at least 12 db to give yourself ample headroom for mixing to avoid any clipping of peaks. You can use some free gain fader plug-ins like g fader or FreeG in the channel inserts. That way, you can save the Fl faders for mixing/automation purposes. Also, I wouldn't immediately use a clipper in your master channel as clipping always adds distortion (unless you are applying that clipper for fx purposes or to slightly trim some peaks). Try and get a well balanced mix using volume fader adjustments and panning before you apply any plug-ins like eq, compression, saturation, or clipping. If you want to save cpu, bounce your tracks to wav so you won't need to run your vsts during the mixing phase.
Another great advantage to bouncing your MIDI to audio is futureproofing your session. This allows anyone who doesn't have the same VST's to open the session regardless. Also super helpful if somewhere down the line you no longer have those VST's installed on your computer. It may take a little longer to bounce the stems but it will save a lot of stress down the line.
@@audiomixexpert3175 SO TRUE!! One thing I learned from a splice video was that FL Studio has this export project bones option which allows you to export every midi and vst setting from every track and channel. I used to just export to zipped loop package but this project bones feature allowed me instant access to all the midi and vst settings from each project using drag and drop function without having to open the project file itself. Couldn't believe what I missed out all these years in terms of convenience...
Mixing engineer does all that Brody. If it’s needed lol
@@allieboy181 Not "if" but almost "always" and with a lot of corrections and changes...
Thank you lollypop!!!
Thanks for this ❤
Thanku you lollypop sensei❤

Hey 😊
I think the quality of your vid’s are improving! I can tell that you’ve been hard at work tryna figure how to improve your videos. Keep working at it and achieving great things!
Thank you!!
Thanks for sharing..🙏
thats what i needed
Este video es muy educativo, buen trabajo 👏🏻
Thanks for sharing the decibel ranges, I never knew. I usually just turn the melody down a bit and turn my drums up hahaa
This helps a lot!! Im mixing a lot of meats. Thank you 🙏
Been producing for 4 months been getting better n better but ur dropping gems fr💎🖤
Keep going 🙌
always helpful some more on growing your CZcams Channel the Last on was a gold
U got the best tutorials
This helped me sm thank you 🙏

You literally showed up outta nowhere. I'm subbing. Could you do a review, of a beat I make after watching for advice???
The old beat still bangin🎉
Nice beat.
All the best for the future ❤
Thank you!
Helpful
Nice quality!
Just a tip: Change the sample rate of your sound card when you start mixing.. that will stop the crackling if your having a potato cpu. But bare in mind that some delay can occur when playing notes through midi devices
great job, honestly gonnna try out a few of these tricks
🙏
Thank you this was one of the best videos on how to make quick mix and masters that sounds clean and loud, how would you mix with this technique if you were to use a kick on top of your 808 ?
Thanks for sharing. Have you tried putting a flangus for Drums, Equo for Clarity and Stereo shaper for environment dynamics. Also Soundgoodizer for polishing.
Soft clipper gang 🔥🔥🔥
Hi Lolly, i love you !
Awesome Video!!
Another good tip to getting a punchy kick sound is sidechaining your kick to the melody/melody bus. A slight duck goes a long way
Another trick I use is slightly boosting the highs on my drums in an EQ. This is another method to essentially increase the volume of an element in the mix without touching the volume fader.
@@Tricknificentfor anyone reading this don’t do it
@@zaydtheproducer2675 try it yourself if you don’t believe me
Great ❤️🔥

thanks for this video 🔥😍 I want to make trap music, but for professional melodies need training please make more videos for melody thanks

Thank you!! 🙌
On the mpc or mpc software all sounds sound high quality, I have fl studio also . I use the same vst for fl and mpc software and the sounds that sound low quality in fl sound high quality in the mpc software. Something about the mpc sound engine that makes all drums and instruments sound richer , you basically adjust the volume of sound and it automatically sound mastered. Even when you sample the drums fit perfectly into the record like it’s apart of it .
Your not the only one who hears these things too, I have noticed it in ableton and maschine also
So cute when she makes beat😍
❤❤
lolly make it pop
Set buffer size to max when playback so u will not get cpu overloading also during mixing.... But during programming or recording set it to minim
I don't use FL Studio, but I do own a copy. I'm a Maschine Mk3 user, but in my personal opinion. Drums do hit harder in Fl studio. My only issue for not switching to FL is because my work flow is really fast and I move quickly when making beats. I just can't seem to get the flow for FL. Maybe because I am a finger drummer, IDK. Thanks for sharing! BTW I did purchase your drum kit to show support!!! Cheers! Keep up the great content!
Nothing hits harder in FL. All DAWS are literally the same. What your hearing is a soft clipper over 0. Use a soft clipper on your master at the start of the chain or at the end of the drum and 808 tracks. Soft clipping or modern clipping. Fruity clipper is cool but Gold Clip runs laps around it
Cool tutorial video 👍🐻❤. I laughed when you said that "mix my meats" 😂
😂
Anomaly stash kit is hard🔥🔥🔥🔥

So clipping is when your master hits over 0db and digital distortion is what happens when you see yellow on your master?
What would you recommend to me when exporting the stems for mixing, turn off the soft clipper and lower the volume until it doesn’t go over 0db? Or leave the clipper on because I feel that there is a big difference. Greetings again. I live in Havana! I find your content very interesting and the way you explain it 🙌🏻
I made one of my hardest hitting drums by adding reverb to them.I know it sounds crazy.
Def use edison to record your analog v or any 3rd party stnths that take alot of cpu, wont get the crackling
I have a limiter automatically that does the same thing in master as the soft clipper that you added
That thing you clicked on was a wrench. I think it represents “Tools”. Great video. It’s really gonna help me mix my meats…
Are you able to put together a comment or sheet with a range of what dB’s you recommend trying to keep your various beat elements in?
how would you mix your sub bass so that it's loud enough in beat?
You can use limter for side chain or pro L on the master. There is nothing wrong with it. Just learn how compressor work. It Will takes years but awesome powerfull tool
What about mixing in Mono?
some more tutorial's would be good
I do everything as on tutorial, I try not to look at levels just listen and in fl it sounds fine, but when I render in mp3 it sounds worse as if the upper frequencies got compressed. Any idea how to fix this?
ill have my beats set at 0db but as soon as I upload it to CZcams they're way more quiet. should I increase them to 2db?
you mentioned that if you need to send beats to the artist for vocals and further mixing by an audio engineer then you'd send mix with -6.0 db. How do you lower volume to -6.0 db if originally it's been mixed to 0.0 db?
So you dont put 808 and Kick to Mono ? hmm ive seen everybody do it any opinion on this ? thanks.
How do you render stems to -6db if you're beat is hitting to 0??
Did you ever release that beat?
Render your analog into wave to save cpu
💯💵💵💵💵💵💯
there's so many hidden gems you just shared throughout this video! instant sub.
🙏🙏
please do the other one for vocals
Idk how to mix vocals :/
So fire. One thing learn gain staging and learn why your using a tool. Trust me it feels better. Great work tho
send me the link of this beat
get a 5ghz 6ghz cpu with about 24 cores and your be sorted
@5:04

Why would you boost the 808 sp hard if you’re turning it down in the mixer by 12 db anyways ? This doesn’t make any sense to me
the source volume always overrides the mixer volume. Allows it to hit its true sound
U don't put a kick with your 808?
Do you use any third party plugins?
I’m terms of effects, only halftime pretty much
Nick Mira made a video on using a naked limiter on the master, and just boosting the gain with a limit on 0 db. I guess you can say that’s a “hard clip.” I was on that wave for a while. I stopped liking it so I stopped and went back to the legion of soft clipper ok the master. 😅 Though shall not travel far without a soft clipper on the master.
What if you do both though set the ceiling to 0 and then have the soft clipper at the very last on the master .. so basically you just using the limiter as a gain for volume
Turn ur buffer rate down 512 till you done recording
Outstanding tutorial on mixing! I think this will help get better in mixing my beats. I’ve had no learning experience and just going by CZcams tutorials for good mixes. So thank you for this lollipop! Also your beats SLAP!
What is your processor? I just got a i7, hopefully Analog Lab dont break up, Arturia plugins are terrible on My CPU.
Mines an i7
@@lollypopbeatz Ok so I need an i9 then.
@@HOLLASOUNDS optimize FL, end background processes if necessary, check sound driver, check sample rate & resampling quality, smart disable on plugins, etc etc
@@AVDRE I use Reason not FL and problems are with Arturia devices not the DAW because same happens with plugin or stand alone. My i5 is not powerful enough, I thought a i7 would be but apparently not as Lolly has a i7.
Send me the beat I'll mix it hahahah
What about kicks?
Same as the 808, I don’t stick to a particular level I just decide how loud it should be depending on the beat
@@lollypopbeatz Got it! Thx for replying!
I feel the opposite of you eww to using soft clippers, a measured fl limiter on the master makes it session ready. no engineer required 🙃🙃 great vid tho!
Fair enough!
u wanna mix your meat?? thats interesting :O thanks for the vid lolly!
😂😭
You're so beautiful girl. Oh my god !
your CPU is Distortion because of so many plugins open
Oky sorry for putting this out cos it can be irrevant but I watched your videos and I realized that your beats sound the same I know u are inspired by chief keef but I think u should try to make different types to try some variety becoz nowadays before even watching your videos I know there is a spinz, I know u will use Electra x Etc but I just want some creativity from you becoz It good sometimes
seems to be working for her tbh
Fuck that... if it works and nothing wrong with it don't fix it...stick to the same things that works
I still think ur cute 🥵
Wait so you say sorry for the CPU crackling but you literally making your 808 clip lol wtf, you even said it was over 0🤦🏼♂ wtf hahah
No offense, but if you do not know how to use a compressor, you probably shouldn't be giving mixing tutorials.
its distorting the fuck out of any speaker though, crunching almost lol maybe listen to it through some airpods cause that will tell you the truth of your overall levels. Don't get twisted by this advice...it isn't mixing, it is pre-production for a beat maker, not a producer. You are still good at making beats though but when it comes to actual mixing this would definitely need an engineer to fix it.
