- In this video i am going to make a dowel cutter using 4 inch wood planer blades. This dowel making jig has the simplest design and very easy to make. This dowel jig is found to be a quickest way to make wooden dowels of different sizes. This dowel jig can make dowels of 8mm, 12mm and 18mm diameter very easily.

A very efficient tool at work.
OK. Right up front, I did not buy this product from Amazon but I do actually own one (I bought it @ 6 months ago at "Somewhere Else") czcams.com/users/postUgkxIzvvTi3_Qc8JnVdYYRJCvuoDC4QjTzeL . Pros:1. It can run a 2x12.2. It's accurate (or at least mine was) right out of the box.3. The blades are dual edge so you can turn them once after you found that one nail still in the board.4. It is a speed.5. THIS model comes with the infeed and outfeed tables (which are somewhat adjustable … another Pro).6. THIS model comes with an extra set of blades (so now you have 4 cutting edge swaps.7. THIS model costs the same amount as the model that does not come with the extras so save your money and buy this one. (no … I don't make any money from Dewalt).Cons:1. Although you can run wide stock, keep the rollers clean or the feed rollers will spin out and leave black marks on the wood due to the full length cutters.2. It BLOWS. This blows in a good way (which also makes this a Pro) but … it blows way too well. The built-in blower can and will clog a 2 1/4" shop vac hose really fast. I suggest using a pillow case taped around the 4" opening or buy a GOOD dust collector (1 1/2 HP or larger). I ended up buying a helical cutter head which eliminates snipe and also does not slow down the feed rollers with wide stock.

Проще взять плашку для нарезания резьбы и прогнать через неё. В детстве так стрелы для лука и арбалета делал.
Лерка для нарезания внешней резьбы справится быстрее да и изготавливать ничего не надо
A threaded crossbar or two, you can eliminate the inner holes for preset sizes & have any size you want....
A lower bar should work, independent upper & lower bars plus the rotation will produce consistent dowels.
Then you might have a wider angle, for even larger bores....

Забыл сказать - не мешало бы сделать упор под висящий конец прутка! Просто будет ровнее...
Хочется добавить - работает ВСЕГДА только один из ножей! Второй стоит для красоты.
Тянуть ВСЕГДА следует гайку, а не болт - легче контролировать затяжку!
Ну кроме случаев когда гайка недоступна...
Лучше использовать дрель - там выше обороты и выше качество поверхности прутка.

For the love of all that is holy, please use a riving knife on your table saw. And please don't bring your fingers so close to the blade. Table saw kickback can and will lead to you losing fingers if you're not careful and if you don't take steps to minimize the risk.
I totally agree: wood should be rived, no table saw. Then gig.

Idk if you're a pro or not... But I saw and sew enough in my job where recessed cuts are done without it.

A bit rough
hold a sand paper around the dowel while rotating it at a low speed on the drill, will smoothen it right out
@@shankarbn You see him sand it in the video and it still has deep chip out that looks amateur
Ideally you would at least cut the corners off the stock to put less strain on the dowel jig, but his method overall is not good
