Still early. There is no guarantee that bitcoin will catch on but if it does the price will have to go much much higher.
It will never inflate so you still have a chance. Still whole blockchain concept strives for no benefit without real input, and for benefit to be as fair as it's possible. So simply investing and holding it won't be a way to make money.
Don't forget, money were invented to make exchanges as fair as possible.

Bitcoin has outperformed everything since it started in 2008 at $1 (now $830), and it’s still very cheap, since like the internet, will grow exponentially as more people catch on to this worldwide-distributed decentralized peer-to-peer censorship-resistant trustless and permissionless deflationary system/currency. The future economy will be totally digital and decentralized.
And in 5 years you'll regret not investing in it now, probably. :P
