- This video shows you some signs that your #budgie is in good health. They are usually very active, responsive, clean, busy with taking care of themselves, their eyes, vent, beak, cere, and claws are in good shape.
What should I look for when buying a budgie? - things to look out for include:
+ sociable behaviour; noisy, playful and alert
+ beautiful plumage
+ quiet breathing
+ clean nostrils and beak
+ a well-proportioned beak
+ the right number of toes
+ a clean vent
Signs of a healthy budgie
+ feathers - clean, smooth and nice bright, crisp markings.
+ posture - upright, natural and alert.
+ beak, cere, eyes and feet - all clear and without any discharge or extra roughness or growths.
+ vent - clear, without any build up of droppings
About the seed-eating birds... A seed diet is not very recommended as it leads to fatty liver disease, and malnutrition because seeds don't contain many of the vitamins and minerals that budgies / #birds need, that's why I recommend bird-safe pellets, or a mix of chopped vegetables, fruits, and veggies.

0:56 yes, you are right. Excess of anything is bad. If we give them greens ,fruits and supplements in excess that will also bad for them.. they might get sick or get diarrhoea

Keep fresh greens in a bowl or something in the cage everyday, eventually he should try it when he dares to.

Im not her, but its probably shes too stressed or has a disease. Giver her many toys so she can be busy with her rime i stead of over grroming. If it doesn't stop bring her to the vet. Hope this helps 🖤

I bought a budgie from petstore. Something weird is with him. He eats too much. From your video I think his dropping is not healthy- it's the second one. Can anyone tell me what to do except taking to a vet? It's the last option and I am not totally sure that he is actually ill/unhealthy or not
Not all seeds are fattening half of my budgies diet is healthy seeds and the other most half is greens and fruits which I’m slowly giving them fruits

Just my albino isnt active. She eats seeds. She fights (u dont dare touch her) and she sits silently on the perches. Other budgies make noises when they see other birds but white doesnt (yes the albino's name is white xD) i have been feeding her alot of vegetables and fruits. Seeds normally. I hope she is ok. Groom and groomy bond. But the other 2 dont (white and blue fight all the time). *i have 4 budgies 2 male and 2 female* )

I have been wondering that sometimes my budgie while eating or grooming gets shells or feathers stuck in its nostrils. I am always worried about it and try to remove it whenever my bird would get stuck into such a situation.
Please can somebody tell what can I do and is it actually serious?
Budgie can wipe it off, they are fully aware they have feather on their nostril. Their nose holes are to small for feathers to enter, so it should be ok if you just wipe the feather off or let them do it by their self

My birds are a bit shy around me, and do not allow me to move them or pick them up. Can I still take them to a Vet to get their nails clipped? My father and I have never bothered trying to go to Vet, because we don’t know what to expect, or what they would expect. We never do risky tasks like this by ourselves as we’re sure we would not do good. I am definitely not capable of clipping a birds nails.
Vets do a full checkup on the burd, trim their nails and maybe prescribe medecine if their not healthy. Nontheless if u dont want to go to the vet, ask a relative, friend or someone close to help trim their nails while you hold the bird. Theres a video.

Get her a partner, toys, play music to her, remove any mirror toys from cage, let her out of the cage, give her treats, teach her tricks - spend time with her!
