That drum beat is what does it for me. When I was a kid, all I had was a cassette recorder and some line in/out cords...but it was enough to rip some of the songs from FF8, the first game that really made me appreciate game music. I kind of take it for granted I didn't even have a Walkman back then.

You don't need haste if you junction Triple to Speed. It's like having Auto-haste without using that ability slot.

Holy shit. I've listened to a decent number of your remakes, but my brain actually thought I was listening to the original when this started playing. I had to check the title again. There's a good remake, and then there's fooling someone's subconscious!
The memories of watching my cousin and brothers play this game, it's just so fantastic. I started playing it myself, but that was many years ago. I couldn't get past Ifrit. 🤷♂️ But it was an experience that I would love to relive someday.

I agree with you, if the VIII or the IX would be remade I would gladly cut one of my arms to buy it. But I would also like to enjoy the experience of the early ones like the IV, V and VI which never had "3d" design and which I never had the chance to play with.

Wow you just proved you have no taste in Final Fantasy, I bet you think FFXIII needs a "serious remake" too.
Uh? Well -- it shouldn't way early. But unlike old FFs, FFXIII didn't have that "OpenWorld" system. And what can I say it barely has gameplay, it's all cinematic (Regardless of being quite attractive).
I dunno what do you pretend to say, but I love Final Fantasy VIII. I just would love a remake of this one because I find such game should've had some more difficulty.

everytime i'm goosebumps when i listening to this boss theme, this is really passionated just likes once upon a time we fought with omega weapon , adel etc. That moment and feeling will last forever for me.

i been listening to remakes for a years and tops most of them and i have always been a FFVIII fan matter of fact the first game i ever was Final Fantasy VIII when i was growing up and you did a killer job i look forward to listening to more of your music in the near future well done

everytime i listen to this i always mimic a boss fight. ahaha. Like the summoning animations from the characters to the summon itself , mostly Shiva. ahaha omg i am such a weirdo. Ahh I love it when Squall walks up a little ,to perform his summon. so cool.

These remakes are great for the battle themes, never got to play VIII as of yet, but loved the Dissida remixes and got curious... Safe to say I'm getting more into the idea of going and playing VIII and seeing how it was, just a tiny bit skeptical due to some not so flattering comments, but this is my best friend's favorite in the main series, so here's hoping it'll go well!

The less you try to rush through the main plot or play it like a speedrun and the more you play it like a world to explore and experience, the less likely you are to complain about the enemies-level-up-with-you aspect and the Junction/GF/Magic systems that a lot if people complain about.

Edit: protect is helpfull and have at least one lvl 99 char with you if you cant spam renzokuken and shit :D
Someone doesn't know how to use junctions. Pain and Death in defense and you're basically immune to all status effects. As for the fight, take out your elemental attack junction and go ballistic with Aura. Easiest fight ever.

I dunno if it's just me, but I always felt like if you could time a summon so that the character "action" animation happened between 0:50 - 1:01, it made the GF animation look/sound that much cooler.

Amazing remake! All i could say is the 1:29-1:40 part could have sounded more like strings rather than plucks, but it's a very minor nitpick. Overall, it sounds very close to a remastered original, while being fresh at the same time. You got most of the sounds just right.
EDIT: nevermind the nitpick, i got used to it after a few more listens.

OMFG u a master on this >.< SO EPIC !! ... FFVIII Is my final fantasy u know? idk why ppl crtic so much this game .. but to me one of the bests out there !! and now finfal fantasy is action based not turn based ... its the worst >.< i love turn based sistem
it's still turn based in a sense. there's a timer for the moves even for the newer FFs (not counting Crisis Core or Lightning Returns, which uses a different kind of time scale)
It's not turn based.
They just simply use the ATB Gauge.
they wanna forget about turn based and goes for action mode..
And thats wut final fantasy was about, u could be on your turn take dmg or not (depending on your choice...) and think of the way you wanna kill the boss xD Was awesome..
Now even the ones of lastly FF (FFXII?) you can move arround and use ur skills with time gauge

This arrangement of Force Your Way is transcendent to even the original. With your expertise, maybe an arrangement could be done for Dark Messenger; I have yet to hear one where the intro has been captured adequately.

Someone needs to make a mod to have your latest versions replace the Steam edition OST. I'd spend most of my play-through with a raging stiffy with this playing.

The name you talk about could be either 2.
Terra Break- Omega Weapon's strongest attack which completely ignores your Vit.
Or it could be Mendigo( or Megido I could be wrong) Flame - The attack deals exactly 9998 damage.
The first name is also not in Spanish, it's in Latin. Terra meaning earth, latin is a recurring theme in this game, which is really cool in my opinion how they implemented a completely forgotten and unspoken language into the game.

Final Fantasy VIII deserves a lot more love. It may not be as good as VII or IX and the Junction System may take a bit of time to get used to, but I think it has a REALLY well told story with likable characters and a really amazing soundtrack. The gameplay to me is kinda meh compared to VII, but I still really enjoy playing the game if only for Squall and company. (Especially Best Girl Selphie)
