The problem here is caste equation the so called "Kamma channels" want CBN to rule even Telengana, they are so troubled that CBN is ruling only residuary state of AP, so from here they want to make sure that CBN comes to power in Telengana also. The media is having "protected interests" about who should come to power in the state not knowing the law of the country infringing on certain privileges and immunities of the house of assembly in the state of Telengana. The language used by TV9 was appalling, this channel is not for better society but for a dangerous caste feeling society.
May I know what privileges and immunities are infringed....Since TRS is in power, they can ban a news channel for their telecasts??? Is this the right way to proceed... Lets believe what the channels said are false, then why cant they file a criminal case against the channel under section 499 first and leave the issue with judicial system rather than directly banning it which sounds like a dictatorship?? Don't you feel like this type of ban by a party which is in government creates a very bad precedent? Lets say after 10 yrs, some other party comes into power and bans all the media as it has some executive power in its hands.. what will be the situation then?? This means the fundamental right of speech can be taken away by any party which is in power?? Moreover there is no legal obligation to watch only a particular channel and as a consumer you are free to watch whatever you like... If someone seriously feels some news is offensive or derogatory, they can always go to high court with public interest litigation (PIL)...
