As someone from the USA, I'm in awe of how well you work with the folks that we would call your competitors. You lend each other a hand, a tool, half your lunch....quite refreshing.
I feel like this comment shows the difference between the USA mentality* vs Nzers/Kiwis and could be how we got covid under control. Working together and looking after each other - I hope we don't change!
*obvs not everyone in the states... maybe just under half 😉
@@amymck6558 I work with my competitors often and we all get along fine. I live in the US. Its a big country and how things are done vary depending on the location in the country. I also have little to no crime where I live. Often people make assumptions about the US but like I said its a large country upstate NY is nothing like NYC. Take care.
That's just to distract them, while one of the other boys on your crew lets down their ute tyres and pours sugar in their petrol tank. ;-)
With Ryan's czcams.com/users/postUgkxy_pn55PK60wAV3X_C_RoLS_67mNonoCE plan I was like one taken by the hand and led step by step from start to finish. Thank you very much Ryan!
my fav is when that final wall gets pulled out, and you can see the new "volume".............well done Son
When Paerau held his food out for the tomato slice lmao. "Chuck it in there, bro" lol
this guy inspirer's me to be a better carpenter absolutely love his videos
big up mate
As a builder of 20 years, respect on incorporating the kauai in to the joinery sill. I wouldn't have thought of that, and most others wouldn't either but it is a very nice touch.
Hope your client appreciates it!
3 videos in 3 days, man Scott is working hard at homw
Hey Parnea - comes from the Latin term "plumba" or "metal lead". Originally a soft metal weight (such as lead) on a string line that was used (with gravity) to measure or draw a vertical line, hence a plumb bob. We used to make them as an exercise in shop class on the lathes. The chemical symbol for Lead is "Pb" from this latin description.
I like Richard's dry sense of humor!!! He's a keeper.
"oh my god, looks like we know what we are doing" love it!! should stick that on your t-shirts as a quote
Got busy for a bit w work, but felt like something was amiss, then realized I hadn't watched your videos in a few weeks.
It's truly a joy to watch (the camaraderie, the shots, the music, the transitions, the building, altogether it is so good) and reminds me to get back to building.
When you have a job where you don't get to actually see your work completed it can leave a sense of unfulfillment.
But building allows you to see your work, your progress, what you've accomplished. I think that's the reason I like to watch construction videos, and yours, to me, are the best around.
Only found your channel this year I'm from the UK. But you are now the only sub I have notifications on for. You are my favourite CZcamsr, I find your videos so relaxing to watch. Have a great couple weeks off, can't wait for the next video!
I do love a good bi-fold doors. I have dreams of one to my deck one day 😁
Proper windows and doors for weatherboard with cheek boards so you can install them over the fitted weatherboard. NZ can do it, UK can do it, USA can do it. I have tried to get windows like that in Oz to no avail apparently one sort of window fits all which anyone who doesn't work for an Australian window company could work out is rubbish. We have to fit all the windows and doors and then the weatherboard goes over their flange. Crazy stupid idea that makes new installations hard and replacements a real pain. Much more logical and quality approach in NZ. Lock up for Christmas all good. Looking forward to the new year's exciting episodes. Good work guys.
No Scott, thank you. You and the guys have been a great help in keeping us all sane! The projects have been a joy to watch. Amazing how New Zealand has managed the COVID-19 spread. Here in the UK it is a mess. Anyway, best wishes to you and the guys. 👊
Closed in by Christmas. Great job, love this channel.
Thanks for the great vid this year, being an electrician in the uk seeing other trades is awesome keep it up.
You didn't even watch the full video yet lmao
@@lukie4ever He was talking about a whole year, not just this video.. always has to be someone on the internet that's negative in some way.
I know I'm not even meaning it negatively I'm just joking around bruh

Well done Scotty, it's nice to see someone who takes the time to install a large door unit correctly.
I've lost count on how many of these I've pulled out and reinstalled over the years due to someone doing a shonky initial install.

Well done Scott. I'm fascinated with the differences between weatherboard construction in NZ and Aus. On the big island we could learn a lot from your weather sealing and treatment of window flashings. Love your eye for detail.

Btw, French here, plumb comes from "Plomb" in French, which means lead, (the metal), we (and I imagine everyone but for some reason the french words tend to stick) used to use a heavy lead and a string to figure out if things were level vertically, hence... Plumb! I haven't researched that btw, this is just me being french and assuming everything has to have happened because of us hahaha Cool video as usual, thanks ;)
A lot of the French language derives from Latin however, so it's still another thing the Romans have given us.
Thank you for all the videos this year. They have been amongst the most enjoyable way to spend my spare time. Have a great well earned rest and i look forward to more of the same quality content in the new year. All the very best and may God continue to bless you.
God how I envy you for taking 2 weeks off and enjoying your time. We are in lock-down here in Latvia until the 11th of Jan, everything's closed, no gatherings etc., you know how it goes. Wish you a happy and much more satisfying 2021 !

Thanks for all the amazing you produce. I started watching at the beginning of the lockdown when I stopped having much access to the school woodworkshop but your videos have kept my knowledge up to spec and even gained a lot of knowledge in some places. I can do stuff now a lot quicker, better and even stuff I could not do before. Your videos are a great resource for carpentry students from all sorts of educations and I am internall grateful that thanks to your videos I am now even earning a bit of money in these harsh times. So again. Thank you to you and your team for beeing so awesome and have a great 2021. May we built a awesome year out of it.
