- was chasing down a substantial leak on my 2010 Passat comfort wagon... after the oil pan and turbo feed lines, it was still getting worse... thanks to another CZcams video I was able to tackle this WITHOUT removing the intake. figured I would share since there's no direct answer because that engine has so many variations in so many platforms...
The way mine is pissing oil rn this video just saved my anxiety after hunting down the leak
How the f*** do you only have 1k subs bro. You literally deserve more!! Damn CZcams!
Beautiful video btw dude.
Thank you. I am chasing a few oil leaks, this probably the last one to sort out.
You are tru that there isn't much on this. It might be the only video.
What a great video really a huge help, vw 😂🤙🏽
Thanks. Needed to see this.
sure thing! glad it helped!
Does yours have an oil cooler in front of the condenser?
Nice vid! does anyone know the part number for the triple square bolts required? (Mainly the long ones)
Part # LIS60850 thats the part number for the long ones, brand is Lisle.
i am fighting the coupler falling out of the waterpump or the cooler. any tips
Great video. Did u get ur parts on amazon.
Great, I'm not looking forward in this. What was your total time start to finish?
Currently doing this on a mk1 Tiguan and let me tell yeah the tools I’ve been using man it’s been a pain but I’m half way there only two more bolts left and she’s out, been a lot of moving back and fourth different hand placements but it’s almost out and so far I’m in it two hours
@TheValenzuela480 Good luck. Keep me updated, nothing easy on vw.
@@ginog5037 will do! The only hard hard part was getting the damn alternator out but if you take both the bolt off the the two coolant lines it makes it so much easier getting out the alternator ac compressor two bolts sit behind it so you do have to move it..
@@TheValenzuela480 Would taking the intake off to replace the water pump/thermostat/temp sensor and decarbon the make sense?
@@ginog5037 yeah that would make sense only if tire doing the pump and especially the carb cleaning, but if you’re only doing the housing gasket or the water pump union, update for me was a good 6 hour job mainly because I was doing while at work, two full hours of pulling bolts and getting out the alt, then dropping the ac comp then you get access to all five bolts (bottom two pain in the azz) then the top three, now the fun you have to take off the filter in order to be able to pull out the whole housing and boom your done get all gasket in and reverse everything
What size are the bolts for the houseing
oof, I'm going on memory but I want to say 5mm, maybe 7 but I recall 5.5 or 5.
What a great video really a huge help, vw 😂🤙🏽
