This doesn't really explain right ascension. It's gives the very abstract idea behind it, but doesn't explain how it's employed.

Astronomy can be very, very complex. This video introduces you to the key parts of that. I agree with you, this video does not explain Right Ascension (RA) very well -- but it does plant seeds for what you want to learn next. If you are ready.
