  • Get Your K Swap to Work with CSS or VSS
By Brian Gillespie and Aaron Gaghagen
We get so many messages and emails about how to get CSS to work with this K swap and how to get VSS to work with that ECU. So we made this video showing all of our information on how to get your K swap to show the actual speed. If you have a question about how to get the correct signal to your speedometer, watch this entire video. The answer is probably in here.

You are awesome, Brian. I just received my KTuned converter. Hopefully, Hondata will read speed now. My speedo gauge still won't read cause it's cable driven. I have a 1989 CRX kswap with a 2006 SI transmission.

Nice, so which shifter cables and box did you use to make the si transmission work ?

@kyletaboo4006 Hybrid Racing Z3 no cut shifter box and cables.

That’s weird…my CRX speedo gauge has always read “okay” (although it does read a bit high) with my k20a & it’s also cable driven.

I think this series is a great idea! Please do more viewer questions, especially for the GE8 k-swap Fit 🙏

No idea what made me watch this video, but I LOL’d about the Hondata speedometer correction feature for a Lotus. Insider comedy gold. 😀

So what you're saying is my Hondata V4 should be able to read the high frequency CSS?? Mine doesn't read.

Im a little confused. For the speedometer being off isnt it due to running much smaller wheels? On my k swap the conversion harness was plug and play and the speedometer was off due to my wheels being smaller. Is that what the issue is about? Once i upgraded to nice big sticky tires it was only off by like 5 mph
Edit: i think i see the problem maybe its cause the harness is transmitting a 6 speed so thats why its accurate as opposed to a 5 speed maybe conversion harnesses dont account for that

In my 95 civic hatch I have a 05 accord 5spd trans with a jackspania 02-04 rsx harness. So do I wire the connector for a the CSS, 02-04 or for the 05 accord. Been driving with an app for a speedo but finally want to get it working. Thank you for these videos

Can the kpro way do it the opposite way and speed the vss signal up to feed S2000 cluster?

What will be the best engine management solution for an H22A4? 2001 Prelude is OBD2 and want to tune for aftermarket Exhaust, 70mm Intake Manifold and 70mm throttle body. Hope you see this, thanks in advance!

I have a 2-pin Vr style VSS on my Subaru trans that I am switching to the 3 pin VSS to match the RSX type harness which will give info to the ECU and then the conversion harness has a single wire that is supposed to be fed to the cluster however the cluster is meant to receive the 2-pin VSS signal (5v I think). What kind of signal does the conversion harness send and how can I wire it to my VR style VSS cluster. I can edit the VSS calibration in KPRO but I'm just hoping to have my cluster work rather than run a digital dash. 1998 Subaru Forester S 5-speed (K24z3 swap) Thanks ahead of time!

Any tips on how to dial in the "Alternate speed input" in Hondata if you're using a PND ECU with VSS (red wire on ECU board) connected?

Hey guys I have a few questions regarding this. I have a 2013 SI, and am building a K24A1/K20Z3 with the 2002 CRV AWD clutch case. I assume my SI has CSS, but I know the AWD transmission has a VSS. Since I'm going to use the Haltech 1500 will this even be a problem? (Just wire the VSS) Also, would it be easier to use my SI outer transmission case as opposed to the CRV one? Thank you
