We should do a theological reflection on this feast-how we should and shouldn’t understand the Ascension, and what it means for Christ’s work in the world-because it is key to understanding the dynamics of the Christian life.

I can't put into the words how instrumental you've been in the finding and formation of my faith. I've been in prison for 4 years and have one left to go. I'm fortunate enough to come home on passes and was baptized and confirmed by Father Bazzel on May 6th, 2023!! Glory to God. But the series "Catholicism" and John chapter 6 really lifted the vail for me. We are also fortunate enough to have access to the Word on Fire podcast at my work release. Thank you Bishop Barron for your dedication to the beauty of our faith through your amazing ability to present it with reason! This description of Jesus' Ascension & how it expands His presence w/us in finite time & earth, calls to my mind John the Baptist's saying, "Repent, for the kingdon of heven is at hand" (Matt. 3:2, NASB). Then Jesus was walking w/men; now He walks w/all believers, not constrained by earth/time limits, but inclusive/beyond. Thank you for such crafted sermons, Bishop Barron, that shed light on our faith & also, invite further reflection.

Scared catholics used to fill churches when I was a kid..they folk realise that the church bogeyman (an imaginary evil spirit or being, used to frighten children.) was a fake..amen

Bishop Barron you continually hit the mail on the head… your sermon resonated with me in a profound way and brought me back to my confirmation when I received the Holy Spirit.. This feast is special for me because the church I attend is named for the Ascension.
I think of it as an extension of the glory we celebrate on Easter Sunday.
Christ rose to new life in a glorified body.
Now, in His Ascension, His glorified body enters the Heavenly dimension, bringing with us, as Bishop Barron said, our humanity. In Heaven, His sacrifice enters an eternal dimension. And from there, the Holy Spirit comes to stir up in us the divine gifts.
Thanks be to God for Bishop Barron who offers such great catechesis in this homily.

I am from Manipur,India and today is the 3rd Sunday in a row me and my old man been taking shelter in another state,with a bag and some foods,because all the churches in my state has been burned down since 3rd of may,all of our houses burnt to ashes and properties looted,all of my near and dear ones has been takin shelter, hiding, running away from the meitei people who has been hunting us down, not knowing when ill be going back to my families,But my faith keep me going till to this day , just hoping and praying it will all be over,Please remember Us in your prayers 🙏

Your words are beauty and light. I felt my soul lifted as in celebration of the Mass. I thank God for you, Bishop Barron, and how you bring depth and light to my spiritual life.
Receiving the Eucharist into your heart unites your heart with Jesus’ Heart on the Cross and conforms your heart to His. This union grants many graces from God through Jesus in the Holy Spirit as we present ourselves to God through Jesus in the Holy Spirit in return. This is right worship and how we are given what we need to go out in mission.
Thank you for the reminder about just how incredible and connected the Mass is.
Sometimes, I find myself rushing around on Sunday and going through the motions. I know it takes practice to stop and truly contemplate what I'm so blessed to be a part of. God bless.

I think of dying in terms of leaving our dimensional world into a dimension-less existence with God. Those who do particle physics (ramming high speed/high energy particles in accelerators) use many more mathematical dimensions than most of us ever think about, to describe what happens in those collisions. Space and time, as we know it, will drop away.

Ascend Jesus to heaven to intercede for us. Ascension Day has valued on the Christian calendar. There's nothing I can add to or divide and subtract from God’s plan of salvation based on my performance. Jesus returns to heaven in triumph and glory for having finished it all for our salvation. God sent His son Jesus Christ to earth to save our sins. My life has times changed because of the ascension of Christ. Today, the Holy Spirit has taken up residence inside me at the direction of Jesus Christ so that I can carry out the purpose of God's plan on earth by going to church for the holy Eucharistic celebration, sharing the good news of God's grace and being the hands and feet of Christ in this world, and showing God's love through my actions by glorifying Jesus Christ for my salvation. Bishop, I pray for all Spyer, those who deny Christ are losers (push boundary). Jesus has already won. My faith saves me in trusting our Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life. Also, thank you for praying for my family. God bless you.
