I like terrible wet and windy stormy weather. I like the challenge and I absolutely love being all cosy and snug as a bug in a rug..... you wouldn't think I was half Jamaican but my gran was half Swedish so that's where I get liking the cold and hating the heat

The Swedish spring, summer, autumn is really nice but the winter, i will say not.
For your next summer here in Sweden i can strongly recommend to visit the archipelago. Outside Stockholm it's a lot of islands.
And if you look 160 km south of Stockholm outside Norrköping there is a huge archipelago namned StAnna and Gryts archipelago.
A famous island is Harstena known for the red water lilies.
A nice and relaxing place in the StAnna archipelago is Skärgårdsbyn mon
On the way, if traveling with car, to Norrköping is a big Zoo Kolmårdens djurpark. This park is worth a visit.

Need to be on the bright side at least she will have it better than me in winter I can barely go outside when it is cold snow or simply as I am sick with spinal cord injure this winter will get extra painful as I am forced to go school/work to could keep my welfare and it is really hard for me in winter !!!! I was hoping could solve driver's license and custom care before that would be made my life so much easier! But no money for that. Oh well!

    • @mandelfriends

yes they surely do. it is a long country from south to north and weather plays differently on both ends, but yes, even in the archipelago around stockholm we go ice skating from january on. small lakes in the middle of the country already now have ice coverage.

It depends on how warm the winters are. A “normal” winter the lakes and the inner archipelago will freeze for a month or two, but it is not uncommon for a winter to be warm enough that the larger lakes and the archipelago only freezes for a week or so ( although it can happen a few times, freezing, then thawing, the freezing again for a little while etc), or not freeze at all.
Having a few inches of snow on the ground but still have open lakes and archipelago is not unusual.
Edit: For clarification, this goes for, say, Uppsala/Stockholm and southward. In the north of sweden the lakes always freeze unless it’s a rapid, where the water moves too fast to freeze.

I start crying in late September when the suicide depression kicks in. Not untill late April is the hard depression gone. It is hell to live in this stupid condition in Sweden.
