● This is a sound comparison between Project CARS 3's exhaust sounds vs. their real-life counterpart. In this first part I'll be comparing 5 cars; The Pagani Huayra, Ferrari F40, McLaren 720S, Porsche Carrera GT and the Lamborghini Aventador.

The Carrera GT needs more that WOOOOO WOOOO sound, else everything is fine

The cockpit sound is actually somewhat close, the the exaust is just PC2 Hurácan at a bit more high pitch
9 years later and the huayra is still stunning as anything today. And those active aero flaps are so ingenious.
The Design definitely doesn't look like it's 9 years old already

Get your ears checked dude, forza 4,6,7 and the nfs games that had the Carrera sound way better
PC3 sounds isn't bad but real life is so much better, pc3 sounds are still better than forza H4 imo
@@JotaV2502 chill kid it is about car sounds only and it is my opinion. FH4 is boring anyways since you mentioned it.
@@JotaV2502 I mean the only thing fh4 does amazingly is manage to be almost as boring as nfs heat, despite being constanty supported. Online is shit, graphics are nothing impressive, the open world is average, fun is meh, physics are nothing impressive, it's just an average game overall. I would put assetto corsa or iracing way above it.

The Huayra's sound it's pretty accurate but in the downshifts needs the turbo sound, the rest is perfect

I love the sounds in game but they seem to rev higher than normal
Aventador real max rpm is at 7500rpm here apparently
RS 390 when it’s supposed to be at least 8000 and I think svj revs to 8700 rpm
@@shaziaansari3150 I mean that the real 8200-8400rpm sound is put at 7500rpm in game, so when you rev it out like the real one it sounds like it's doing 9000rpm+
Just short shift when you feel the sound is enough

I love how they did the Aventador, really feels like they captured the whole car's driving experience!

The Carrera GT in PC3 sound like a Audi R8
Because of the type of engine they carry, so much so that for example some V8 cars sound so similar. V10s like the R8 and LFA sound the same, but the exhaust pipe sounds different, as does the Huracán.
How to tell most recent McLarens sound the same, like the 720 and Senna
Same with the NFS games. In early NFS games like Carbon, the Lamborghini Gallardo, the Audi R8 and the Posche Carrera GT sound the same.
But in nfsmw 2005 is the same sound

This is very interesting i wanted someone to do a video on this as on most driving games the cars sound like a hoover or a mad fly except dirt.. 👍
Sounds are very accurate but unfortunately the game seems like a downgrade from PC2, graphics look like a mobile game
It's also an arcade racer closer to PGR3-4 than Forza.
Uses the same graphics from PC2.

"Mobile game graphics" is not that much of a bad thing anymore, Asphalt 9 looks amazing

Surprisingly accurate. The sounds aren't as clear as in recent Need For Speed titles, but are definitely very, very good. Codemasters remain unbeatable though.

@@nvl2691 Also Dirt Rally 2.0, which I think has the best car sound out of all Codies games so far. But car sounds in RFactor 2, Assetto Corsa Competizione, and R3E are damn good as well.

the sound team did a good job...can't say much for the rest of the devs
The company did hire people with high grade professional recording equipment to record al of the sounds(for our hearing this can sound of but is not),this was done on the in and outside of the cars. There should be a behind the screens video somewhere of the making of these recordings. I know it took a long time to synchronize and perfect it.

All of them sound pretty close atleast, the Carrera GT needs a much higher revving noise though.

The CGT sounds like a Gallardo and it needs to be way higher pitched but the aventador is spot on
why do all car games leave out that bass sound that we get in real life. I dont get it. Some of these would sound so much better if they balanced the sounds right.

Let's be honest, unless a developer of a racing game is actually in the car recording the sound, they are never going to be spot on compared to the real life version as much as people like. With that said, I'm very impressed with how close the cars in PC3 sound to the real versions. Well done on the video ✌

Project cars has been the best at replicating noises for a while now. Far better than the rest.
Good job. At least Project Cars 3 didn't get all the distorted sounds from PCars, PCars2.
For the Aventador so many games don’t get it. You need the slightly quiet for that it is exhaust note cause they are fairly tame stock. You need the aggressive af launch these things have. The thwap sound on the upshift, cause it’s single clutch. There’s so many things to get right and it’s so difficult

Oh man you can hear the turbo spooling behind the exhaust note and those shifts are just brutal. Wow! No one gets the Carrera Gt right. It's like a finely tuned horn with no real pulses. Just whooooooooo like Rick flair
They all need less transmission whine though.

The carrera gt was 100% a reused, slightly reworked audio file from the huracan/r8
Pretty good. Carrera GT is a bit wrong though. I’ll look to pick this one up when it goes on sale. Looks like a good hotlap game with a wheel and pedal setup.
Get project cars 2 it’s a much better sim but assetto coarsa is much better than both.
Brandondawg 1211 - I love AC. It feels great. I can’t get a good wheel setup in PC2. Always feels twitchy and floaty. Any tips?

That f40 sounded pretty bad compared to FM7 & FH5, but the downshifts were hot.
Forza could learn from this.... Those soundtracks in fh5 would make it one of the best games ever

The Porsche doesn't sound high enough as if the real one but it'll do I guess all the other cars sound good though B+ overall
The Pagani Huayra sounds like something from Need for Speed II.

At least the Aventador they've fixed the shifting sounds. Its not perfect, but definitely better than in PC2.

I never liked how turbocharger's sound works on Huayra in Pcars, I would prefer a bit more of synthesization to make it more communicative.
And, Carrera GT sounds more like a Gallardo, but the greatest lack is the F50 GT1 sounding like an F40, even if there are various Ferrari v12 in the game

PC2 had more vicious car sounds in my opinion
Idk why but there are these weird stuttering in the sound in PCARS 3, soon as you reach redline and when you release the throttle. It's esp. obvious with certain cars like Huayra and Aventador.

While some cars were close to the real life sounds of the cars, some others....not so much. Especially the Porsche Carrera GT and Lamborghini Aventador which are just the higher RPM or higher pitched versions of the Audi r8 V10s and the Porsche Flat-6 sounds respectively. :(
P.S: I don't understand on why most racing games nowadays have to have these (mostly inaccurate and definitely annoying in my opinion at least) higher pitches RPMs even if those said cars don't have engines that sound like that in those higher RPMs.
