Popiah ingredients inside the roll are dried shrimps, jicama, eggs, fried shallots with hoisin and siracha sauce ...
Can You Teach My Next Generation Modern Mathematics Subject All Chapters
Yes, popiah has jicama with some peanuts mixed with some carrots, fried shallots etc with some sauces. Its like a vege meal.
Ohhh! I was pretty close hehe it’s so delicious 😍
@@ChaseandShelbs Yes you were right on the money! 🙂
@@ChaseandShelbs Jícama is a Mexican turnip.
You get points lol @@ChaseandShelbs
it's more accurate to distinguish the local cuisines as Malay, Indian, and Chinese food. All of these fall under the umbrella of Malaysian food.
You guys always amazes me😊 There are no dull moments for all the videos you guys uploaded on CZcams❤ Keep it up Chase and Shelby👍 I’m a supporter from the Philippines😊❤
Aw thank you!! 🥰🥰 sending love to the Philippines!
that black thing on the chestnuts are actually tiny rocks. This is to heat the chestnut evenly.
And Popiah is chinese food. It laterally means thin wafer in Hokkien.
Wow we ate at that noodle place in Chinatown last week and we totally agree that they do have the best noodles we have eaten in KL...
Living your video's 🤜🤛
Now way! So glad you guys were able to try this place! A must go in KL
Love Malaysia
🇮🇳🇸🇬🥰😍🇲🇾
Thanks for sharing this wonderful video n for showing your food explorations in KL.
We are happy to! Thanks for watching 🥰

*Welcome to Malaysia truly Asia Good food Enjoyed Thanks for Sharing very good video*
🇲🇾❤️💝🧡💗💕😍🥰💕💗💓🧡💝❤️🇲🇾
THAT WHY MALAYSIA TRULY ASIA NOT JUST THE COUNTRY BUT ALSO FUSION OF FOOD
Me and my girlfriend just had dinner at the noodles like in the video and it was so delicious! Thank you so much for the suggestion. We love you content and hope see you guys more❤❤❤❤
Yay!! We are so happy you loved them as much as we did. Much more content to come. Thanks so much guys 🥰 cheeers!
That "Chinese tea" you had was actually longan juice. It wasn't jelly, it was the fruits cut into pieces. 😋
Ahh that totally makes sense!!
Enjoy Malaysia truly Asia's foods !😋😋😋❤
Both of you are the best.
💕💕
Keep eating Chase & Shelbs nyummy🍔🌭🥪🥨🍜🍛🍲🥗🍝🥘🥙🌯🌮🥣🍟
The gooey noodles are called Hokkien Mee, the prawn mee is also hokkien in origin. They are Malaysian Hokkien food.
Prawn mee in penang is called hokkien mee. But hokkien mee elsewhere is dark caramelised thick soy sauce.
I love food tour so so much!!😭❤❤
Why thank you!! It was amazing! 🥹♥️
Omg your face with the shrimp soup chase 😆
And then your voice overs at the end 😂😂
Too funny
You really can't go wrong with noodles, doesn't matter what kind it is. YUMMY!!! ❤️🙏
Harry you speak the truth😉! Noodles are the perfect dish!
Yoi guys are awesome. If you want to try the best street food that has won an award as the number 1 street food in the world, its roti canai. You won’t regret it. Only in Malaysia
The gooey noodles prepared by the Indian man is NOT Hokkien Mee. There is a very popular stall in Chinatown itself, at the intersection inside Chinatown close to where the Chestnut vendor is, that sells authentic Hokkien Mee.
If your still in Malaysia pls try the bakwa the red cured meats it’s soo good ! Every time we visit we bring a kilo home
No way! We will lost defs try some when we are back 😊
Hello chase and shelbs, very energetic couple. Hope to see you more in the Philippines🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭 more snacks more fun!!! Food is life
Thank you! All the snacks make us 2 very happy travellers 🤭
It's really exciting to watch such a great eating show with delicious local foods. That's really awesome.😀👍👍
So god you enjoyed 🥰 it was such a fun evening!
@@ChaseandShelbs Yaeh! Have a nice day.🙏🙌🙌🙏
Hi Shelbs, the contains of popiah are stewed turnips, bean sprout, fried crispy egg in flour & others. Popiah is 1 of my favourite. It's a joy to see you guys enjoying Malaysian food. Have fun guys
I've come to realised that both of you really appreciate food. Yeah... Just appreciate the difference in taste.
We do!! We are very passionate about it 😂🙏🏼
Enjoy your stay, usually China Town mostly is a tourist place to get all sort of foods from different race in Malaysia.
Greetings from Ontario, Canada!
I envied you guys enjoying good food. I love Hokien noodle, I love the crispy pork lard in Hokien noodle! I missed them!
Did you guys had massage after enjoying your snake fruit! There is a number to call for massage on the wall…hahahaha
China town is not 1 street which most tourists think. It is a larger area. You are smart to walk around. Very good eateries are like lai foong, ho kow and pik wah to name a few. They have a long history.
We realized that after! So much food in the area 😍
17:11 Lambo Huracan Performante casually lurking around the alley
you were spot on with the popiah aka rolls, the main secret ingredient is radish
Wow! Surprised I got it 😜
You guys should try the Malaysian Jerky where the stall is next to the selling of the coconut drink where they are very popular snack
That looks delicious. Big support from Phils🙂
You guys crack me up hahaha. Chase saying "Chicken Butt" 😂🤣😅🤣😂🤣😅The sad face on the shrimp broth 😭
17:10 While Shelby sips on her broth, a Lamborghini is seen casually driving through the area. lol. 😂
Wow we didn’t catch that!! 😂👏🏼
Luv yr channel & both chemistry. You must go to KL’s Jalan Aloe after 7pm nightly for the food fest there! No regrets!
woah i see myself and my friends at 6:45 !!
im the one in the green sweater but anyways great video about the various food in petaling street!
Ahh no way! That’s so awesome ☺️ thank you very much! We loved eating our way through Petaling street, it was super fun and a must see place in KL 💕
@@ChaseandShelbs No problem !! I apologise if we appeared emotionless as we had walked around Pasar Seni prior to walking around Petaling Street and we were tired from the trip haha 💛
The black drink you had was Cincau or grass jelly drink, the jelly is made from seaweed
Oh man you guys make me miss kl bz i used to work chinatown KL 6 years ago
1. The indians took the chinese yellow noodles and fried it in sambal sauce They called it mee goreng. No such dish in India.
2. The chinese retaliated. They mixed the indian curry with the noodles and called it mee curry. No such dish in China.
3. The malays moderated the indian curry with coconut milk. And the mee curry tasted much richer.
4. Italian sphagetti is for kids. Not spicy. Malaysians add chilly and curry powder to their sphagetti. Now there is ummph.
Lol best comment.
looks so delicious!❤️
We were in food heaven! 😍🙏🏼
Never missed KL Hokkien Noodles while visiting KL. Right, it is the Best Noodles.
Couldn’t agree more 😍
Welcome to Malaysia.guys.. great videos well-done 👍.
Thank you! 😃
No meat inside. It’s turnip, cucumber, beancurd in the popiah. Food are mostly at the shops and alley
Wow hey man,may I know your guys name, such a gorgeous couple 💑 thank you for visiting our malaysia culture and the food with the world..I'm from kl and live in London UK,this shop had open many year,I had been tried before hokkien mee,so nice I like it.hope you guys enjoy the moment 😀 I can't wait to watching more of your vlog 😊 😀
It was a yam bean (jicama = origin from Mexico) with crab meat rolls
Added sweet bean paste with chilli paste
That black noodle is not the original noodle as the original ingredients is not chicken but pork. You can try it with chinese restaurant that sell them in chinatown or else where.
As a Malaysian i never had a "snake" fruit now im curious to try
You must!! It’s so good!! 😍
It's called Buah Salak :)
1:59 BBQ Sliced Pork Dried Meat /Bakkwa.this is Malaysian Chinese new year traditional classic snack.the taste is honey sweet super delicious.
I’am here for Shelbs thats what she said moments😅😅😅and Chase’s wheres Waldo shenanigans😆
You described us so perfectly and we are here for that!! 😂👏🏼👏🏼
Don’t forget to try the famous Ramlee Burger at Jalan Alor ❤️🍔
There are two versions: Crispy deep fried one, and a normal type (without deep fried). That's my old time favorite breakfast and teatime snacks 'Popiah', or 'Spring Roll' usually all are vegetables and a little blended peanuts/roasted peanuts added with homemade soya sweet sauce (some like a little spicy), wrapped & rolled with a thin rice piece., perfect with a hot black coffee. Yummy! Glad to see you try this.
We couldn’t believe how good they were!! So glad we tried them too 😍
Sorry to say this you guys should try the clay pot rice and they are delicious and no other country do better than in Malaysia think about this when converted into Us dollar and it cost you guys less than $10 to have a delicious meal ....
We have actually tried it since! Chase loved it!! ☺️
Yuhuu..I was in the green car behind you Shelbs at 17:10 😂
What no way!! 😂🙏🏼how cool is that!
Wowww!!! Welcome Me!!! KUALA LUMPAR MALAYSIA!!!
loving these videos!!!! you guys making me jealous, can’t wait for my vietnam and korea trip in feb!
Ahhh thank you! You will have the best time. We are excited for you!! 🥰🥳
Enjoy the wonderful tour,keep safe
Go to SS2. That's another level of food awesomeness
The Prawn Noodle is similar as the one you had in Lot 10, they are also sometimes called Hokkien Noodle in the north side of Malaysia. Which is confusing a bit because the dark sauce one you had earlier is the Hokkien Noodle that is called in the central side in KL hahaha and they are totaly different type of dish.
Oh we had no idea! Thanks for clearing that up ☺️ we are big fans of the Hokkien MEE noodles!
hello Axiumus Ng, are you malaysian or singaporean ? Prawn noodle and Hokkien noodle is totally different dishes, please do your research please.....
@@fattchailee2106 Are you Malaysian? Try order Hokkien mee in KL and Penang, you will get different food.
Walk onto Jalan Sltan from Petaling Street. If yo utrn left, there's a very recommendable fruit stand that also sells delicious jiuce, and a great coffee shop at the end of the road (right hand side, not the hipster café opposite to it.). If you trn right instead, there's a great place for Indian food, and some Chinese food stalls as well.
Damn it, my u key isn't working properly :D
Haha I guess I should've watched the whole thing before I posted, but I was just so enthusiastic to share.
RM10 for mee.. that not local price... that kind of mee usually for rm5.. they charge you double... and the drink also that size of cup is rm3... maybe its tourist price.. all double
It’s right on the end of China town so yes it’s more of a tourist price not local ☺️
Hi. POPIA is made of shredded white Turnip, sweet n chili sauce, dried shrimps, carrots n fried onions. Delicious 😋
Thanks for letting us know!! It’s so good 😍
Trying food or drink anywhere , not to make your conclusion too early ..! They're many more good awesome food out there .. 👍
Popia was a very old traditional , common snack food , it more to vegetarian .......
Try not to walk along center of the road , you have shop on your left and right too . If you go there 08:00 before 11:00 grab some traditional roaster duck and pork ..you won't regret... 😘😂👍👍👏
hi have you ever tried to eat malaysian buger? if you haven't tried ramly buger, it's buger made by locals. you should try it because it is very tasty 😋
Stay tuned ;)
Popiah in chinese hokkien dialect means 'thin biscuits'. In cantonese dialect is called pok peng. It can be vegetarian or with chinese sausages.
Snake fruit in malay is known as buah salak. Buah is fruit in malay. The snake fruit pickles are also taste good. Maybe you can try when you passing by any stall that sells pickles.
Oh thank you! We will have to try it 😍
Inside the popiah might be chicken floss.... glad u guys like it😊
It’s was super delish! 😍
Claypot rice is like $30 everywhere else, how cheap of them!
Mee Goreng is best when cook with chicken egg and other food ingredients
15:39 it's actually called "cincau" it's not supposed to taste like black cherry
WOW. Just watched so much of your videos! Quick question...do you guys use the wireless mics or the shotgun most of the time? Thank you for the content.
We use a go pro and a wind muff! ☺️
Street food may not what local people often go.. but night market or Pasar Malam in malaysian thing. It usually start at 6pm to midnight..It has every type of foods
Hehe stay tuned! 😉 you might like the next video! 🙏🏼
Yeah. Clay pot should not be MYR26.00 - they over price. Street food stalls can over price for foreigners. So, it’s ok to compare prices on other stalls if can find it with that sells clay pot dishes. Request for less sweet “Kurang Manis” and half ice cube “Separuh Ais” when ordering Hot or Cold Drinks. Place your bag under the table.
OMG noodles! My favorite food of all time. Like every noodles.❤❤❤
That first noodles looks legit!!😍
Ours too I think.. how can you beat some good noodles!? 🤭😍
@@ChaseandShelbs Im putting this to my list. I will 100% try that 1st noodles someday😍
Just a tip, you need to walk out there are a few streets out of petaling street there are the cafes, restaurants and food! In fact there is a cool place called rexkl and kwai chai hong, check them out!
thank you! That sounds amazing 😍
Thats not wan tan noddles thats prawn dumplings with noodles soup is made from boiling prawn shell and chicken bones.
When you guys need try the food you guys need to try where the crowd are eating and it mean the food there is very delicious
I'm getting hungry watching this vlog.
😍👏🏼
otak otak = fish paste
hi, the drink is grass jelly not black cherry.
Malaysia truly Asia
Wlcom to Malaysia... Have a nice day guys... 🙂🙂
Thank you! 🥰 hope you have an amazing day too! 🙏🏼
Don't forget too try" Ramly burger" malaysia street burger..
snake fruit is just an english name, local name "buah salak" has got nothing to do with snake 🙂
I suggest that talk to the local if you dont know where to go
There are a few good Hokkien Mee around Petaling Street, definitely not that stall. I think it serve halal version of Hokkien Mee. Pork and pork lard is the main ingredient for Hokkien Mee, without pork, it is not the traditional Hokkien Mee.
The sweetness of popiah comes from the yambean which is the main ingredient
Ahhh that’s what it must have been! It’s so yummy!!
It is the crossing. Eg madras lane
Malay cuisine is a Malaysian dish that you would never find anywhere else... Only have in Malaysia and Indonesia
You guys should try Kim Lian Lee restaurant in Petaling Street, their Hokkien mee are top notch and cooked by old timers and favourite among the locals. Shouldn't miss it.
Ohhh we are not opposed to that! Thanks friend ♥️
i hope one day you can go to sarawak borneo malaysia
15.51 he said "komen mee" he meant recomended mee.
I lived in Chinatown for years in total. You are missing some of the best shops.
We need a guide book!
haha seafood soup.. love ur honesty😂🤣🤣
Very fishhhhhyyy 😂
