This theme is 40-years old and it could be played to intro NBA games today. It is timeless and soooooo good.
One of sports greatest themes.
Whenever I hear this theme I still feel excited like I'm about to see a game. Great high school era memories for me.

Indeed-- it's how I got introduced to the NBA on television, seeing it first on the Tiffany Network as a boy.

A weekend NBA Finals game being played in the afternoon. That wouldn't fly now.
I can imagine that u have Games 1 thru 7 of the 1988 NBA Finals between the defending NBA World Champions Los Angeles Lakers and the challenging Detroit Pistons from CBS Sports.
This particular collection only has partial broadcasts, but I did inherit another collection recently that may have some of those games.
KDKA-TV used to delay many of these post-season NBA games to Midnight or so in favor of Pirates Baseball.
mr awesome, not so in 1988, KDKA-TV aired all of the NBA Playoffs from CBS right on the dot that spring.
