To really understand aurora you have to look at her childhood,picture the lakes and forests of Norway as her playground and you can see how nature(Mother Earth) is so important to her and then add in the fact that as a child growing up her family never had a TV or radio,only an record player where she listened to Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohan both great wordsmiths in the art of music,it's then you can start to understand what makes this girl become the amazing artist she is today,and to think at the age of 6 she found an old Brocken piano and taught herself to play without being able to read music is astonishing,to then at the age of 9 write a song called Lucky which you must listen to its a masterpiece and by the age of 16 have enough songs for her first album.(all my demons greeting as a friend )WOW! She is so special,for me she is a GENIUS .As a lover of music all of my life, like most of you we all have at times enjoyed certain artists,the reasons for this can be many fold,but I can honestly say that at this moment in my journey no one has touched my emotions or moved me like this young artist from Norway and there is a reason for her to have a huge fan base all over the world. She is such a great songwriter, singer and performer - for me there is a unique quality to her voice and the way she expresses her feelings in every word she sings is a quality that not many singers have She is not mainstream as she has created her own genre, and therefore she is not topping any charts. But that is not what aurora is about she has never craved for that she is a child of the earth and so grounded in what she believes in .So for me a musical journey with Aurora is a journey with meaningful lyrics and comforting vocals that makes you ask yourself questions and think more deeply about the kind of world we want to live in,for someone so young to write and produce songs plus produce all her own videos is outstanding.yes Aurora is a Genius.

Liam! Your Aurora reactions are so great. It's been 10 months and you still have so many songs us Aurora fans consider "critical" songs to react to :)
An important thing when it comes to this is that every time she performs a song it's different, so in order to get the best experience it's important to watch the "correct" one. Usually her live performances are better. As to the ones you haven't reacted to yet, the essential ones are: "Runaway - live at the nobel peace prize concert", "It happened quiet - live at the current", "Through the eyes of a child" - either the stripped vevo one or live at nidarosdomen, both are incredible, Warrior - live at the HAIK documentary. This song might be well suited to you since you mentioned mental illness, so in order to get the maximum from this performance I recommend watching the whole beginning (first 15 mins or so) of the documentary including the part after the performance where she talks about the song and what it means to her.
There are so many more, her newer songs as well, Heathens, Exist for love, Queendom etc. Her live performances at Nidarosdomen cathedral and the amazing enchanted concert at the end of HAIK are essential as well :)

Oh and "Soft universe live at Cigale Paris" is AMAZING as well even though the audio isn't perfect. She also does an amazing performance of Warrior there as well. Perhaps one of her best typical concert performances. The audience's energy and passion is incredible there!
Great reaction Liam. Aurora is one exceptional artist. I think you'd really enjoy her take on Ariana Grande's song "God is Woman," recorded in studio with her band at radio station NRK P3 in Norway. The show's format has invited guests come and play a few of their songs live, in-studio and also, after they've arrived, gives them one song for them to perform - giving them one hour to prepare for it prior to the performance. She literally transforms the song into a song of her own.

Liam, it is time for you to take a look at Aurora live. " Runaway" from the Nobel Peace Prize Concert 2015, "Though The Eyes Of A Child" from Nidarosdomen (Trondheim Cathedral) from 2017, "It Happened Quiet" from the HAIK concert 2019 (Filmed for Norwegian TV in the forest where Aurora played in her childhood) and "Conqueror" live from the Honda Stage. The live performances allow her to display more of her personality than the manufactured film official videos do. You will be blown away even more by this precious, petite powerhouse.
5:59 Well, she also has music videos that are visually strongly related to the message she is telling in the song e.g. in 'The River'. (suggestion for next reaction)

The Haik concert is special. That was part of a surprise day for Aurora. This also includes a documentation. All Aurora knew was that she was going to give a concert. She didn't know where and under what circumstances. Both in the documentation (drive to the concert) and in the concert, small and large surprises were interspersed for her. At The Seed, for example, a male choir emerges from the audience. The reaction from Aurora was lovely in the middle of the song.

I don't think she does weird things with her hands and dances actually quite the opposite it is completely natural.The dances that people call cool are so contrived but people see them and since everyone does it to them it is considered normal.

Why do so many people say "Weird", Aurora is expressive, nothing weird about it. Her music videos are related to the subject matter of the songs, "The Seed" is, "The River" is, "Running With The Wolves" is, "Exist For Love" is, "Runaway" is etc.
