Yes, restore the windmill. We have one on the farm we live on, behind our house. It needs the sucker rod repaired, but it works. Good to have back up water in case county water goes out
I used to fix my grandpa’s windmill all the time. I was like ten or eleven climbing that thing to hook the brake back up. Lol 😂 I loved that windmill. Yes, it should be restored, I wish I’d have had the opportunity to restore my grandfather’s windmill.
Yes, please restore the windmill!! I would much rather see an old fashioned windmill than the giant monstrosities all over the landscape. The old ones didn’t have to be replaced as much. Built to last.

New follower here! And I live in Taloga and my daughter found you in a magazine at the dr. office in Weatherford! We've all been on a Darrell marathon! Love this! We all farm, too, and it all hits home!
The windmill is a beautiful historic memory for many. Tearing down or just removing yours as well as others is like taking a picture of your great grandparents and destroying it. The original is gone forever. Windmills are beautiful structures and whether it's being used or not it should still be standing proud for generations to come. . That's my thoughts. I love to see windmills going down the road and think about what it occompllished in its lifetime for whomever used it or is using it. Please don't get rid of a part of history. . Plus your windmill has even a higher membership because of what it contributed to your start of a blessing of new adventures.. Photos are sort after all the time for a nice windmill structure. My Photos are of all types myself. But the historic memories of the usage told to the children to come are great reasons as well to keep a windmill up. That's just my two cents worth. I love that old JD 55 Combine !! I had one, but mine was a 1964 JD 12 foot header 55R rice combine. Then I upgraded to a 1970 JD 16 foot header 105R, diesel w/hydrostatic drive, and on tracks !! Also had a 1968 JD 5020 !!

I do hope you’ll keep at it. And I’d like to suggest that if you don’t need the old windmill any more, perhaps you could find someone less fortunate for whom it might be a blessing, and put it back to work.
