  • Today I will share with you the lazy way of rice. You need to prepare: rice, potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, pork belly, cooking oil, rock sugar, ginger, grass fruit, star anise, cinnamon, corn kernels, green beans, dark soy sauce, light soy sauce , Oyster sauce, pepper, salt, egg. The lazy braised rice made in this way has meat, rice and vegetables, rich in nutrition, and picky eaters like it.
[Xiaoying Food] Since I learned that rice can be cooked like this, my rice is not enough to eat. It is too little to eat 5 times a week.

Transcribed recipe - had to eyeball some measurements as they weren't subtitled but hopefully this helps!
    2 cups of rice
    2 tsp oil
    1/2 tbsp rock sugar
1/2 - 1 lb pork belly - bite size pieces
3 slices fresh ginger - approx the size of a quarter each
    1 whole nutmeg
    2 star anise
1 inch chunk of cinnamon bark
    1 large potato - cubed
1 very large or 2 med carrots - cubed
3 large shitaki mushrooms - cubed
    1/4 cup corn kernels
    1/4 cup frozen peas
    1 tsp ea:
    dark soy sauce
    light soy sauce
    oyster sauce
Wash 2 cups of rice and drain - then soak in fresh water for 30 minutes.
While the rice is soaking, prep your veggies and meat.
    To prepare:
cook sugar in oil until nearly dissolved and amber in color
    add pork
stir frequently, and cook pork until golden and fat renders out
add ginger, nutmeg, star anise, and cinnamon to pan - toss and cook until fragrant
add potatoes, carrots, and mushrooms - stir to combine
add corn, peas, and sauces - stir to combine
add 1 tsp pepper and salt or to taste
add 2 cups of water, bring to boil
    pour everything into rice cooker
drain your soaked rice, and add it to the cooker
    add 3 eggs on top
set to cook - and wait 10 minutes after it finishes before opening
    stir well
pack into a bowl and invert onto a plate then top with sesame seeds for a nice presentation
    enjoy

i tried it, its good but here are my notes, put less carrot and you can skip the mushrooms, sugar, eggs and potatoes, put a lot more corn and pepper, and add a shit ton of lemon in the end. Since you are boiling it, you can add all the seasonings when you add the rice. I would also reccomend to add a little spearmint, a litte more oregano, onion and tomato. Crucial, use olive oil instead of butter, it tastes so much better. It works with any piece of meat.

Marinate the chicken thigh for 30 minutes with Indian masala (spices), salt, MSG and some butter. Then put them all under the rice and put some water as usual ratio of rice and water, onion, raisins, then cooked in the rice cooker. Sometimes i've used coconut cream instead of butter. Ginger can be fresh or frozen. Mushrooms can be fresh or dried. Peas can be frozen or canned. Carrots can be fresh, frozen, or canned. Rock sugar can be replaced with white sugar. Pork belly can be bought in any grocery store. This is legitimately a pretty quick and lazy rice dish.
