The greyhound is the only breed of dog mention in the King James version of the bible. As a retired groomer, I have always like the greyhound.

Zoomies are awesome! You forgot to mention that they do zoomies because they just love to run. You can't force them to run and you can't stop them from running. It's what they were born to do!

The other issue with allowing your greyhound to sleep on your bed is that they take up most of the bed. Even in a king size bed you end up squeezed over to the edge. They also generate a lot of heat when sleeping.

This is spot on and I’m sure will be a real help to people considering adopting a hound. I just love Magnus and Scout ❤🐾

So we have a Galgo, and they're of course very very similar, the biggest thing we love that he does is leaning on us for pets hahaha, its quite strong too sometimes, to the point that he will absolutely stumble a bit when we move away hahaha. And they are just so different from most other breeds, all their little quirks are the best, especially the zoomies, they are top tier! (also makes for some hilariously skillful mini soccerball kicking, he plays by himself quite a lot during the zoomies, and will toss it up in the air, and as he spins he kicks it around like a pro!)

my whippet loved the water, the creek, the beach but didn't really like being washed😅

I had a tall, slender red Doberman Pinscher. Strangers would meet her and insist that she was a Greyhound. I gave up: “okay, she’s a Greyhound…” I would like to have a Greyhound. Or two. Or four. ❤️

Every dog is different and to their own. There are common general rules, but like all rules, they may be broken by a specific personality or the dog personality. Your first dog. You should be in contact and build a good relationship with the group and a single person from the agency family You got the dog from. So you can ask specific guidance and questions to your specific animal and best approach that they can guide you to and through. Cheers, and thanks for sharing.

I've been researching greyhounds for a couple of years and would love to adopt one. We only have a tiny patch of garden on our flat in London, so I'm worried there will be no space for zoomies and off-leash runs. I hope I can find a large fenced space - I hear there are dog fields you can rent, but without this I'd worry my dog would miss out.

Thanks for watching. You should see if you can find a greyhound Facebook group in London as they may be able to let you know of suitable enclosed areas that you are not aware of.

Greyhounds don't need a large garden or home. They don't need very long walks but 2 or three 20 minute walks on a lead. They do like to run, which is a short sprint, as they do not have high stamina. They love to sleep on a big soft bed, many lying on their back and can even sleep with their eyes open. Do not wake your Greyhound up with a shake or poke, when asleep. They are extremely sensitive Dogs and small children clambering over them when resting, will make them nervous. having said that, they are very gentle and respectful. They generally walk by your side without pulling. They need elevated feeding/drinking bowls because of their long legs. Coats for cold weather, even pyjamas in the winter if their sleeping room is cold. My Greyhound was not a racer and had nut been trained to race or Course Hare's, so was never on a lead unless near traffic. You can adopt a Failed Racer as my Dog was referred as. Never on a lead in the 10 years I had him. He lived a free and very happy life after leaving the horrible Race Track in Ireland. Once you've owed a Greyhound , you won't want any other Breed. They are Beautiful in every way. Happy days. 😻💖🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

How big does a greyhound get? Mine takes up 75% of our queen size bed.

Why do greyhounds let their tongues hang out when they feel relaxed? My Ollie, a galgo, does that quite frequently. Possibly I've answered my own question. Thanks, as always, for the informative videos.
