I know it's a stylistic choice, but is anyone else bothered by how distorted/quiet the vocals are in all of Crying's music? I know there are wonderful little stories contained in all these songs, and on occasion, I figure them out piece-by-piece, but trying so hard to grasp them and failing most of the time kills me.
I have sort of mixed feelings about this. I wish I could understand the lyrics more easily, but on the other hand, the unpolished nature of the vocals give them a lot more emotional depth and power than an autotuned Beyoncé song or whatever. I think it would be best if they just published the words with the song, e.g. on CZcams and Bandcamp, because once you read the lyrics you can follow along.
I had to buy get olde second wind on vinyl and look at the lyric sheet to understand what the hell Eliza was singing in Olde World. It's bothered me but I've acclimated my hearing to it. Patriot needs to be mixed better though.
I couldn't disagree more. Sitting vocals in the back a bit is important to the feeling the music gives you. Really annoying to always have vocals in front as if the human voice is the only thing really worth deep complete attention.

That's kinda the point. The album is gonna be a deconstruction of 70s 80s Stadium rock. That was why patriot's intro is literally Spirit of The Radio by Rush. The album covers back then could look shitty at times like that due to different graphic design philosophy than now.
