Love how Snake Eyez is still a masterclass Gief after 10+ years. If you haven't already, watch "Snake Eyez' puts the team on his back at SoCal Regionals 2014". One of the best moments in fighting game history IMO.

Seems more like a reaction after using f+HK to bait it. Thanks to those hitbox buffs, it finally works against that move.

To add to that, he knew his opponent had wind stocks and would likely go for plus frames with the buffed Condor Spire. I don't play at this level so I can't say whether or not iPeru made the wrong call. Probably just didn't know Gief could do that in that situation.@@GamingCentralTV1
I love that Zangief is a pro wrestler type of character because he'll grab you and say some goofy ass shit like "SIBERIAN EXPRESS" before bouncing you like a pogo stick

This is harder to do than it looks even if you understand whats going on. Timing after punish counter midscreen is hard.

I think Zangief needs a ground pursuit move. Where he can grab you up off the ground. It doesnt do much damage. Maybe about half the damage of a throw, and make it an EX move.

@@GamingCentralTV1 it's not for damage though. Just to apply more pressure. So say someone doesn't tech. You can make them stand to maintain pressure. Effectively removing a wakeup option.

Alpha 3 Gief theme is god tier
Man I forgot how good Zangief's Alpha 3 theme is. Though it does feel a bit empty without the announcer yelling "Face it Straight! Triumph or Die!"
