I call David the god of music. I know there are singers that have maybe more range or more control over their voices (such as Dimash, who is no doubt the best singer in the world), but for me David was, is and will always be the god of music, cause his voice and songs are just so amazing. I owe my life to this man, who through his music helped me battle depression and suicidal thoughts for more than 10 years now. So he will always be my hero, no matter what anyone says about him or the band. Their music has a powerful message. I love how you honor your parents. That is an important message to the young generation. My respect to you. And my respect to your parents. Also I am sorry for your loss. Please react to A reason to fight from Disturbed. But first do the official live video and after the official music video. Believe me, you need to see the official live video for A reason to fight from Disturbed.
David Draiman...one of the BEST vocalists out there! Unbelievable timber to his voice that I've never heard before! Has awesome control...can go from clear as a bell and gentle to rasp, from baritone to tenor and back on a dime! Just beautiful. Loved your reaction!
This is one of my favorite songs, period! I have lived this song...and it's totally true...sometimes when you're at your lowest point, you're shown the way out! I am 20+ years sober...
I was born August 24, 1984 with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and Pneumonia, my parents were told I wouldn't live more than a few months or years, I survived my first seizure on June 12, 2019 and I'm still here.
Wow...such a beautiful story. Thank you so much for sharing it with me. You are a gem, a rock, a pillar of strength. That disease may take your muscles, but you are stronger than you ever could have been with them. God Bless you. Keep smiling...keep shining. Much love to ya.
My wife first got diagnosed with cancer when she was early pregnant with her 2nd daughter Shelby Lynn. They did surgery on her without knowing. Once they found the pregnancy the drs tried every way in the world to abort the baby and start chemo immediately. She absolutely refused and they kept telling her she wouldn't carry her full term. At 6 months pregnant she had a wreck and hit the steering wheel. It broke both of Shelby's hips. Again the drs tried to deliver immediately and let fate take its course. Lora said hell no. She was due May 11 and Shelby was delivered by c sec on April 11. She is 14 years old and healthy and beautiful. Her mom was 38 yrs old when we lost her to cancer 3 days ago on 10/13/2020. They told her she would never raise that baby girl. She did for 14 years.
What I like the most how Disturbed has this signature type of gospel that picks you up and put emotion in another level , like memories I have and giving it that right place. Thank you for posting. peace!
I'm 36, have had dushan muscular dystrophy and have been on a breathing machine my whole life, I had my first seizer in November of 2019 and lost my dad in 2016 but every once in a while I feel like he's watching.
This song is my go to currently and definitely in my top 5 all time. I've been recovering from post concussion related symptoms that at one point had me barely able to get out of bed or walk across a room without assistance. Makes you re-think your priorities. Great reaction as always. Stay positive man.
Bro, I’ve heard you mention your dad many times, but never heard the story. It sounds like he was one heck of a fighter!!! As for the doctors, forget their time frames. We both know there is only one who dictates that!! Amazing song, and amazing video!!! Keep them coming!!!
No brother...thank you. Thank you for what you do. You put your life on the line to save others, and there's nothing more noble than that. Much love to ya, my friend.
This song was amazing live. I caught them in Nashville last year. He had the entire crowd hold up their flashlights and lighters when he said "the light." It was an otherworldly experience. Now, every time I hear that verse, I get chills.
My favorite review of this song by far. You didn’t miss a beat (pardon the pun) It’s in my top favorite songs of all time too. Oh, and thank you for acknowledging us healthcare workers. We get so little it return but care tremendously regardless.
The first time I had heard this song, I had recently ended a relationship with an abusive ex. I also was born with heart disease and wasn't expected to live then later in life suffered with an eating disorder. Guess what, I competed in my first bodybuilding competition this past Saturday and actually got to tell my story. If I hadn't had my eating disorder, I might not have found bodybuilding
As a father myself your words are truly inspiring! I hope I can raise my son to think of me as you think of your father. I would be proud, as I am sure he always was.
Like others have said Hold on to Memories but do official live video which is tribute to rock family lost. They have added next level of emotion to their work over there past few years.
Damn. Your story was so ironic. I have ALPHA 1 ANTITRYPSEN DISEASE. It’s systemically destroyed all my organs. The liver (cirrhosis) has been the worst. I’ve been in and out of hospitals and in a coma more times than I’m aware of. They diagnosed me with decompensated end stage cirrhosis. I was too sick to qualify for a transplant. Plus on my other organs were failing so… You know. Anyway, the maximum life expectancy of end stage cirrhosis is two years. It’s been 10 years. I’m not getting any better. But I’m still alive. It makes no sense. Still I wouldn’t trade it to be healthy. I have literally lost everything… All my belongings, my car, my memories, my identity, And when my liver is releasing toxins into my bloodstream… I lose my mind. (It causes encephalopathy and dementia.) Still… I don’t know if I would trade my disease to be healthy again. I’ve learned so much from losing everything. My only fear is losing my mind… Which will happen … eventually. When I get really scared and start feeling sorry for myself…I have always said you got a shit hand but at least you don’t have Lou Gehrig’s disease. Your dad was a hell of a guy. He’s braver than I. This song 🤘🤘!
It's such a good song he might get teary eyes. It's also one I did suggest. I visited a friend's grave shortly after HOLD ON TO MEMORIES was released, and soon as I started my truck and the radio came on, so did the start of the song. I told his widow, and she says it was him telling me THANK YOU FOR COMING BY. I HAD GOOSEBUMPS AFTER THAT
Thank you so much for the kind words, and the support. I really appreciate that. They are a phenomenal band, and David is just a ridiculous singer. One of the best in the world, if you ask me. Much love to ya.
Duh. 😂😂😂😂 bro this is my top 10 songs as well! This is their best song for sure! I used to play this on the way to the gym all the time. You have great taste birdman ❤
So sorry for your loss... I have also lost my dad, on the 5th of August last year. One of the songs that helped me go through the entire funeral ceremony was "Indistructible", I have listened to it 3 days in a row and it became my personal anthem. The other songs that had helped me keep going were "The Light", " A Reason to Fight", "Hold on to Memories". Maybe you can give them a try. Thank you for this reaction, a great one, loved it and you've got a new subscriber.
I will do it. Thank you so much for the kind words, and I am so so sorry for your loss. You are coming upon the 1 year anniversary. Those days are always the hardest. Keep an eye out..I'm sure he will be around watching over you...and will make his presence known. Just keep your eyes open. God Bless. Much love to ya.
This song carried me through a very hard stretch of my life, from having to move home after a job failure and losing feeling in most of the right (dominant) hand from a freak accident. This song gave me hope that things would get better even at their worst.
I can definitely see how this song would help you with that. Amazing song. So glad music helped you through tough times. Thank you for the support. Much love to ya.
I bet you that if you react to "A Reason to Fight", the official live video you would have a new "1 and is saving lives. And Hold on To Memories, again the official live video will touch your heart and definitely make you think of your father. That song will be sung at my funeral. Please react. Disturbed is an amazing band for the good of people.
I am so so sorry for your loss. It is a horrible horrible disease. Dad had it for 30 years, and fought it with everything he had. Thank you so much for the kind words. Much love to ya, my friend.
@@BirdmansPlace Thank you so very much. I forgot to mention that I am almost 50 now but. It still hurts to this very day. Especially around Father's Day as I am sure you are aware. God bless you my friend.
Love Disturbed. I would also recommend Another Way to Die, Reason to Fight (which a lot of people are recommending), and Vengeful One if you like Disturbed and songs with a message.
I love this song more than I can say. I was in a very dark place, living with schizophrenia...literally all there was, was darkness. I wanted to get better, but in order to do that you have to do a lot of hard core introspection...and you can't lie to yourself, else you'll never get better. It got darker and worse the more I got to know myself, because the more I got to know myself, the more I hated myself, the more stressed out I became, the worse the schizophrenia became, to the point that I crushed up and swallowed 300mg of morphine...to this day, I don't know how I'm still alive, but there you go. I'll tell you that it doesn't get any darker than that. I was literally dying in the hospital (they fed me a charcoal drink that wasn't as bad as you'd think it was, and had to keep waking me up through the night because my body wanted to shut down pretty badly). Any rate, That was the day that showed me that my family did love me...my wife and kids loved me, and I just couldn't see it. The darkness showed me the light. I can say, with confidence, that schizophrenia CAN be beaten (like my wife says: it's a mental illness. Your brain started it, and your brain can fix it)...and this song damn near brings me to tears every time I hear it.
I wouldn't say in all cases a person's brain starts schizophrenia. Because being in solitary confinement long enough can trigger it. All it takes is enough fear and stress and those things can boil down to what a person is put through. I would likewise add people can act in a way that makes you think they don't love you when they do or someone can fake loving you. So you can never really be sure with people. Because relationships are complicated. I butt head's with people I love quite a lot but it's not because I don't love them. I will also add not everyone has loving family's either. But either way I am glad everything is going great for you at now.
I am so so sorry your life led you down that path. You impress me so much, and I admire you for what you have gone through. Thank you for having the courage to share that, and I will pray for you, my friend. God Bless you. Much love to ya.
you want to think of your dad in a song? do "Fallen" by Volbeat, while listening to this song I was finally able to let out my grief when my dad died. Give it a listen
Yes...truly.
God bless our first responders.
We regular folks cant imagine what they go through...nor their courage...or strength.

One caveat, Dimash is not the best singer in the world. That title belongs to Floor Jansen.

Yesssss.............
you should listen to a reason to fight, watch you burn and hold onto memories by them. so good and powerful. i get emotional when hearing them.
Agreed a reason to fight is just a punch right in the feels
I'll 3rd that comment lol I totally love all those songs too!
What I like the most how Disturbed has this signature type of gospel that picks you up and put emotion in another level , like memories I have and giving it that right place.

I love his voice. I actually have their song "down with the sickness" as one of my ringtones!
Being the 20th anniversary of it I hate the world has changed so can't celebrate live at multiple venues live where they shine.
Down with the sickness was my wife favorite by them. And oddly enough she could sing it very well lol..

Best reaction ever! I often recommend this song on many reactions to Disturbed - Sound of Silence. This song never fails.

I don’t like heavy metal but I do like this song!
It is only at our lowest, when all other lights around us go out, that our eyes adjust to the darkness, allowing us to see the faintest light.

I love this video, but appreciated the song more when i just played the song with lyrics. They are so powerful. This is my favourite song of theirs.
In tribute to your dad, Hold On To Memories by Disturbed would be a fitting song.
