Jacqueline „Maryanne” Allas is one of the main artists of music culture known as Sega Tambour. Without doubt it is the fastest style of music played by the African diaspora in the Indian Ocean. Lost somewhere in the middle of the ocean - Rodrigues island is home to unique style of Sega music. Saturday night parties were not only about dancing to frenetic rhythms, but about solving community issues and personal conflicts at the same time. Just as during rap battles one could sing out all grievances standing in front of the adversary.
