Freddie was very powerful that night, he was full of energy and wanted to vent all the nervousness he had accumulated the night before because he had quarreled with his partner. His voice is excellent And you can see that he really wants to let off steam on stage. I advise you to enjoy the whole concert, because as I usually say there will be nothing like Freddie Mercury anymore

I saw Queen in 1978 in NYC was awesome and timeless.

The band’s philosophy was that make the concerts entertaining and different, if you want an exact copy of the album just listen to the album. That is what makes live shows amazing, musicians making music to the audience on that day! Queen is the most phenomenal live band ever!! They are legends!

The band's credo was that if they played the songs the same way they did in the studio, people would listen to their records at home, not buy tickets to their concerts. And even their concerts weren’t the same, which was often influenced by the current state of Freddie’s voice. It was a god-given moment when the four of them found each other.

This just shows you just how adaptable this band was LIVE. Each song in each LIVE show was never the same. And they all adapted beautifully, it appeared natural, but this band worked hard and rehearsed. Along with that came the rare ability to adapt to the song in that moment. They had silent communication, you will notice the looks, the prompts with instruments to signal change up and move to the next thing, it is just so good, they make it appear so easy but it is really not. Because bottom line Queen were perfectionists, Freddie especially, but their timing, no matter how they changed the song in that moment, they had the fundamentals down which made it look so easy. They were a truly special band. And it took all four of them to make this happen. Freddie is always highlighted because he was magnificent. But without the band supporting him, he would not be able to do what he was able to do. ❤️

Thanks for reacting to this version of the song! This is a really fun performance. From this same Milton Keynes concert check out Play The Game and Staying Power. For some early Queen You have to check out the White Queen live at the Hammersmith Odeon 1975 and Queen's very first hit the Seven Seas Of Rhye live at the Rainbow 1974. A very fun performance is Rock 'n Roll Medley Queen live in London 1977.

Ha, now you realize that every performance is different. This particular is pretty fast. Freddie had to hustle between the piano and the stage. Lol. Love how they end it too.
Love of my life is another great example. It’s a completely different vibe each show.
Sweat fun fact: Brian has Freddie’s touring Steinway to his home. ❤️
    Great reaction.

You're closer to Freddie than you think. Freddie was born to a Parsi family on the island of Zanzibar, citizens of the British Empire. For some of the years, he attended boarding school in India but his family was ultimately forced to fleeto London in 1964 due to a violent revolution in Zanzibar that endangered their lives.
Once Faroukh Bulsara found hinself at the global epicenter of music, fadhion and popular culture, he became Freddie Mercury and the rest is history.
There is another connection to Africa, somewhat more controversially. In 1984-85, Queen did not abide by the pledge of many other artists to refuse to play at the Sun City Resort in apartheid-era South Africa.
Queen's position was that they were assured that the the crowd at the concert would not be segregated, and while they condemned apartheid, they did not believe in boycotting a country in order to make a political statement against that country's government. They felt that, then first of all there would be very few countries in which they could play, if any at all, for example, George Michael played China in 1986 and it's not clear to me that the crimes committed by the Chinese Communist Party are not worthy of the same boy caught that was directed against South Africa.. the band felt that they would essentially be punishing the citizens for actions usually committed by Rogue agents acting as Government
London music scene and the rest is history

Basically Freddie "covering" himself. As you said, a completely different song, mich less "gospely", more "rock" than Montreal or the album . Who else does this?
