Cover is singing your own version of the song.
Some singers are trying to sound the most like original and others are just themselfs (like Alex).
And i think that the second way to sing is more cooler and sounds better (cuz you are more yourself and people will remember you like "Alex" and not like "someone who sings like Bon Jovi".
If you want someone, who sings like Bon Jovi then listen to Bon Jovi and stop searching for covers.

He is faily multi-instrumental, but they're all fairly easy to learn, but hard to master. I only know a fair bit about non wind instruments but bass/guitar are not that difficult to learn.

6 years ago I first listened to this song and I didnt know about the true talent that this guy had at the time. Now I play guitar, bass, and piano/keyboard, and I now truly know how much talent, time, and effort went into this cover, I know this is 6 years old but this a damn good cover.

I don't understand you , the "haters".I consider myself as a rocker/metalhead , I hate most of the mainstream pop songs , but the way this guy (and of course Kurt Hugo and Chrissy with the ATC) covers them it's simply amazing and I like them.Especially this one , it's still similar to the original one but with the style of Alex.

listening to the song, it's got this teen vibe to it and it clicks to me. I'm no longer a teen anymore but it brings me back to the old times. i think it's appropriate to call this a modernised cover version of the song.
