Today's video is a tutorial on 10 of the many ways you can style your silk scarves or bandanas. I have been seeing this trend everywhere recently so I thought I'd give it a try and I'm in LOVE!!

Hello, mind if I ask, can a non black person wear this? I'm afraid to wear this without having any knowledge about cultures, I might be label as "racist" for Cultural appropriation.

Also european women wore silk scarves and large hats to cover their hair from the sun, especially among the aristocrats.
Furthermore, it was and still is really common for Orthodox Christians or South Italians older women to wear it to embrace their modesty.
Obviously they wore it for a different reason but it's really nice to see how different people would dress and how nice it is to learn about different cultures ☺️
Your right the women she mentioned didn’t invent the trend, she just made it mainstream for the masses…headscarves is not so much synonymous with a race or culture but just being a women in general. You can go back into different points of time, different cultures and will find head scarves as a staple.

Love all these styles! I am having trouble keeping the scarf from slipping out when I do the first method and I was wondering if anyone had any tips to try and prevent that from happening. Bobby pins would work but then you could see them on the outside. Thanks in advance!
Hey! If you do the picnic style I showed towards the beginning, the bobby pins will be covered by your hair when you put them in the back by your neck near where it ties! Even better would be to use real hair clips that snap, they are more secure and have more surface area! Hope that helps.
super late response but just saw this video and thought I’d share. I put on a normal headband first which sits underneath the top part of the scarf so you don’t see it but helps keep the silk from slipping!

Gem thank you! I find that hair clips and Bobby pins are the best way to keep it from slipping if tying it very tight doesn’t work. However, I know some brands sell grip tapes and things you can attach specifically for the hair if you do a little google search I’m sure you could find the products; hope that helps! Xo

Hi! I just use an affordable wide width curling wand from revlon I got a long time ago (it is wider at the bottom thinner towards the top no clamp). I use heat protectant spray then separate my hair in top and bottom sections, then I curl really large sections; this saves time and looks more flowy! hope that helps.

These scarves are so pretty, but do you find since they're silk they slide off your head throughout the day?
I had no issues with any slipping! When I tie them tight enough, I can wear them all day with no issues. :)
You can use a few hair pins/clips in the side and the bottom part (where you tied the knot)

Do you have any tips on how to make it not slip off? Mine always slips off and im not sure how to make it stay
Hi! I just tied mine twice and made it as tight as possible and it did not slip. I also try to keep it closer to the front of my head than the back so it is more secure. However, if simply tying it wont work, i suggest to put a flew bobby pins or hair clips underneath your hair in the back to try and secure it from both sides. best of luck xo

Hi Holly. I have the answer for you. NONE of my scarves or headbands will ever slip again. Get yourself the ORIGINAL
WiGrip comfort band. It is from the Milano Collection. It is used to fasten a wig or scarf without bobby pins. It is a miracle! I just discovered this a month ago and cannot believe it took me years to figure this out. I tried to buy it on amazon but they only sell the fakes. Just go to WiGrips website. I got the black and brown but prefer the black. Please let me know how it goes:) Have a great day!

Does the silk make it slip off from your hair?
No, surprisingly! If you tie the scarf tight enough, and position it properly, it should be fine. However if you experience slipping, using a few hair clips will help. :)

Hello! the scarf only has the pattern on one side, which is the silky side. The other side is soft, but not quite the same slippery feel. However when you wear scarves like this, you only really see one side. :) Thanks for asking hope this helps.

How do you keep it in place? Not sure if bobby pins work and where to position them
for starters definitely tie it as tight as possible, and then you could use hair clips instead of bobby pins for a bit more security!
I prefer to use the clips towards the back of my head (by my neck) so that they are hidden :) hope that helps
