    Thanks for your review! We are doing the free trial this summer. I hope it goes well because I have one that really melts down at math time and I'm looking forward to the break from it!

    I entered, thanks! I have been wondering about this curriculum as well. I am not great at math and would be excited if this would be a great fit for us.

    love love love it! thank you for giving us your input. I also was bit skeptical due to the popularity. This video gave me the info needed to try it and hopefully win a year of online... yes homeschooling different littles may be chaotic but perhaps this will easy the chaos :) thank you for the amazing video!!!

    Thank you for this review. I know it’s kind of old, but you answered my main question which was: is this a good supplement to a core math curriculum? And you said that’s how you use it. I think we will use it with Math with Confidence or RightStart. Cuz I have the entire RS Math stuff but I’m kinda leaning toward switching to MWC based on your and other’s reviews. Thanks again!! Love your channel cuz I’m a scatter brained mom too and I KNOW I can do this but it helps to have some encouragement and you are great at providing that ❤

    Can you please share what you use for their core math? I too have a child that loves all the things you described like manipulatives and hands on. That’s the method that works well for us. I’m considering TT because it’s hard for me to find time for teaching her regular math. But I don’t love the idea of doing online when she likes manipulatives and actual learning in real life ways.

  • @connied7708
    @connied7708 Před 3 lety +1

    I love the idea about using it as a supplement. You mention 3 days. Will you have them doing core math on the same days they do TT? And how long is each TT lesson ?

    • @JoyfulNoiseLearning
      @JoyfulNoiseLearning  Před 3 lety

      Great question! I probably should have addressed that in the video... TT is about 15 minutes per lesson. (Unless the kids take their time on the problems... it can stretch out to 25-30 minutes). I plan on having them do Core math 3 days a week. So sometimes it will overlap with TT, and one day a week it will just be TT.

  • @lindseyturley7027
    @lindseyturley7027 Před 2 lety

    You mentioned you use a different math curriculum as your core math and TT as a supplement. Would you mind sharing what your main math is because it sounds what I also enjoy/look for in a curriculum? I just realized what I had been using is actually only K-2 so I'm now on the hunt for a good hands-on, manipulative/activity/game based curriculum.

    • @JoyfulNoiseLearning
      @JoyfulNoiseLearning  Před 2 lety +1

      Okay, for my 3rd Grader, He used 3rd Grade Math With Confidence for his main math. For my 6th Grader, she ended up using Teaching Textbooks only. I couldn't figure out how to use another program, so we just stuck with the one. :) Teaching Textbooks is not a good hands on math, sadly. I think the best one is Math with Confidence, but it's only k-2 right now, but Singapore may be a good one to look into.

    • @JoyfulNoiseLearning

      Correct! But There is a workbook option, that you can order or print out if you wanted some workbook practice. But it’s generally used on the computer.

    Do you recommend getting the hard copy workbook? Would it correspond with the online work or would it be doubling the work?

    • @JoyfulNoiseLearning
      @JoyfulNoiseLearning  Před 2 lety

      Sorry! I forgot to respond! I have not gotten the hard copy workbook. I think that would help some kids if they want to follow along with paper and pencil, but it’s not necessary.

  • @courtneyjohnson7843
    @courtneyjohnson7843 Před 3 lety

    How do you keep up with grades? I know some do not do grades but for those who do does it track grades?

    • @JoyfulNoiseLearning
      @JoyfulNoiseLearning  Před 3 lety +2

      Great question! Yes! It does all the grading for you. I just looked at my daughter’s results in the parent portal yesterday to check and see how she is doing. Thankfully she gets a lot of 95% and 100%, and I found a few 86% lessons.
      If you want to know which concepts they are struggling with, you open the eBook to find the answer key/types of problems that your child is missing.

      Yes it does! You can have them do more than one lesson a day if they are quick. Or have them do half a lesson a day if they need to slow down.

    Question! Once the app is downloaded, does it require the internet to use the app?

    • @JoyfulNoiseLearning
      @JoyfulNoiseLearning  Před 2 lety

      It needs to connect to the internet every several lessons to download as it goes, but once you have a few lessons downloaded, no you don’t need the internet. We do most of our lessons at home with the internet, but on the go I make sure they have the latest lessons updated and ready to go without internet. Does that help?
