this run was way better than toa’s in my opinion. If there’s anything I’ve learn from skating contests it’s not about doing the harder tricks. I’ve seen guys come out and drop some of the craziest tricks in comps but it’s the guy with the most effortless style and consistency that always won. I think lazer has really built up his style in the last 5 years very fun consistent skater to watch and puts together great lines without doing to much.

Man have you even seen Toa’s run? Faster, bigger, more stylish, more flow. Every side you are arguying about who wins contests, Toa did better.

Runs where you get off your board and walk around shouldnt count for any contest. Either flow the course or enter best trick only.

this was a sick run but I disagree: repetition of flip-in, two of the same trick in the line (kf bs 5050), not one heelflip, no nollie or switch 🤷♂️ Toa’s was winning run imo

I'm happy for Lazer, but we all know Toa should have won. Lazer only did kick flip variations, not even one nollie or switch trick. Just one fakie trick. Technically Toa's run was way harder. Japanese skaters won last 4 events and the judges made sure streak is over. :) Anyway, no need to complain. Great event, thanks for this great entertainment!!!

After watching both runs again I agree with you. While lasers run is insane there are no nollie or switch tricks

@@20eyesmisfit Apologies sir, you are right, edited to kick flip variations, which is a hardflip. The hard flip tail slids was sick, but then he did a hard flip back lip, which is a repetive trick and should be rated a bit lower.
People still try to quantify skateboarding in 2023. The run is luckily not only judged based on difficulty or variation of tricks.
Toa was definitely the 1st place run. Sadly, a favored vote.

I used to go around my park kickflipping into everything too. It might be slightly difficult but its not inspired at all.

Can’t believe this is the first place. Giving a first place to a line with flip front 50, flip back 50 and doing the same flip one in a the little quarter and the other flip in the same quarter just landing in a little higher section on the quarter. Nothing change, young kids running a higher level than the pros but a poor judging.
