Thank you for your videos. This is s good topic that is often not discussed. The charity and generosity going down on average in the rich vs middle class is not something the wives of rich men can mitigate since there is no community property in Islam. This leads to difficult situations where a wife can get approval to spend $12,000 to have an irrigation system in the backyard for a garden or on a handbag but cannot pass on these things and instead spend the equivalent to pay off the mortgage of her mother’s house or give the equivalent to charity. Ultimately, purchases and expenditures that make the nuclear family look good can get approved but not other ones. Yet the perception and expectations stays the same.

I liked this video, but I do want to add one thing. Everyone will be tested with difficulty generally speaking regardless of where they are or how severe it is, but who says we have to feel emotional pain during our trials? Why not try to alter our emotions so that we can deal with our trials? And for the trials such as worrying about losing a loved one in any, shape, or form by going on the Ziyarat of Imam al-Hussain (AS) can prolong one’s life from what I heard and making Du’a at his shrine is bound to be fulfilled, so we can always try that and leave the rest to Allah (SWT). I’ve also heard that reading Du’a Faraj can also prolong one’s life and we can also just supplicate to Allah (SWT) to prolong our lives and the lives of our loved ones and encourage ourselves and our loved ones to increase in good deeds. We can use Du’a and other things for the more severe and difficult trials such as worrying about losing a loved one in any way, shape, or form and alter our emotions to deal with the trials which are less severe. What do you all think?

Syed, thank you for your inspiring lecture.
But if I may, I would like to respectfully disagree.
I feel that money just makes people more of what they already are. If they are generous, they will be more generous. If they are stingy, they will be more stingy.
It may be that many people who want to be very rich are more stingy to begin with. So I’m not sure that the wealth is the causative factor, it may be only associative.
    But Allah knows best.

What's the point of being $uper rich if you can't take it with you 6 feet under?

The story about the guy who wanted them to have a good meal, you can flip that and say that that was arrogance, and that they should’ve been grateful for the blessings, there’s no reason to be that sensitive because somebody literally wants to take you out and give you a lovely Time. Furthermore, most of the examples that you’re giving you could apply to a different category and you would be saying something totally different, you could talk about how certain ethnicities hang with their own people and do things in their bubble, isolating themselves off, wanting to only shop in, Indian grocery stores or how they only hang out with other Persian or Arab or more specifically Lebanese or Iraqi women and they don’t talk to other girls because they feel more comfortable,. Even on a religious level, people mostly hang with their own school of thought and it’s understood to be beneficial because it’s good to be around like-minded people who encourage and all of that sort of thing, so if you were talking about any other sort of classification of breaking people down into bubbles, it would be approached as being good or at the very least at least acceptable and more understandable. These kind of topics always put somebody in a no-win, either someone’s accused of showing off and not being empathetic or someone is accused of hiding aspects of their identity and not really using it to its fullest potential blah blah blah blah there’s always a criticism. And for the restaurant tip thing, that’s a whole other topic, but I can at least say this for now, it’s important to keep in mind that there are very different types of restaurants, and in very high end, exclusive fine dining type places, the gratuity is included, it’s not optional. It’s on the bill For a lot of that stuff, so if people want to get into those settings, you’re gonna have to get out of the food truck or kebab fast food place and actually try opening businesses in what you would consider to be high end places,. Inshallah

You said “to be able to marry whoever I want“ well there you are, that makes it all worth it. All of it is worth it just for that. But seriously though, you just don’t want them to be rich because then that’s bad for your business, this is supposed to be about empowering and uplifting others and letting people do what they enjoy doing and making people happy, even if it’s temporary, even if it’s a hotel, there’s no reason for it not to be a very luxurious hotel, why not? Why not? Can we not have it all ?

  • @zararoyce319

Lastly, I’ll just say this, if you want to be a miser to your kids, if you don’t provide it certainly the ones who are here in the west will find someone else to provide it. So if you refuse the Gucci in the travel and the specific food, do not complain when your daughter finds a boyfriend who you may or may not approve of who is happy to provide those things. You should also consider the whole practice of basically pimping out your women to corporate America to get them to make their own nafikhah. That’s even how missionary work and western infiltration is so successful in the Middle East/Africa, etc., they are able to offer things that their own families are denying them to one perspective or just very basic simple things, a girl wants to have a phantom rules, Royce or wants to be able to wear make up or Wants to be able to have whatever food she wants not just eat whatever is put on the table,
