  • The long-sealed grand jury records in Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal case are closer to being released, thanks to decisive action by the Florida Legislature on a bill championed by Joseph Abruzzo, Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller.
Clerk Abruzzo worked closely with Sen. Tina Polsky, D-Boca Raton, and Rep. Peggy Gossett-Seidman, R-Boca Raton, to advance and pass the legislation during the 2024 legislative session.
This legislation could open up to the public testimony and evidence from the 2006 grand jury review of allegations of sexual abuse of minors by Jeffrey Epstein. The bills narrowly expand the rules that allow for the disclosure of testimony or evidence received by a grand jury.
House Bill 117 is the companion bill in the Florida House.
Governor DeSantis signed the bill on February 29, 2024.
