This is a very enlightening piece of the Robert Blake story. Thank you for posting it. I do wish we could see it without the text and crescent overlaid on the video.
Blake grew up on the Our Gang set under the wing of Carl 'Alfalfa' Switzer. Alfalfa was mean as a snake in real life, but he took Blake under his wing. They burglarized humphrey Bogart's dressing room together as children. Blake and Alfalfa were basically juvenile delinquents on the set.
Always interesting to listen to Robert Blake - a troubled soul and probably a bastard but at least in front of the world he did not pretend that he had it all together
Robert was a great actor. He was to self-destructive. He misrepresents he wasn't on top anymore in the movie biz. He turned down lots of very good roles in hit movies. The series gave him a chance to work and save some money.
First of all, love you Robert, and you are missed. I disagree with Robert that doing a television series is what you do on your way up or down, but I do understand what he is saying about how difficult and tiring it is. That is why the U.K.'s way of doing a television series is much better. You are not tired out from doing it, nor do you have to worry about bad storylines. Maybe if the studio executives had offered Robert a 4th season and onward of Baretta done the way the U.K. does it maybe he would have done one or more seasons. The studios here need to either switch to the way the U.K. does series or either do a combination of the way we do it and they do it. Still popular shows have been cancelled in the U.S because of too high a budget. Instead of cancelling, take a year off and come back in 1 or 2 years and do the next season with the money that is now available. People will still watch. I thought he was great on the Johnny Carson show and he did say a lot of things that made sense sometimes.
Before Robert Blake leaves this world, put him in another A+ Hollywood contender. We got just the screen play. Contact me. "Is there anybody listening." - Neil Postman The Curse of The Blackened Eye - Orville Peck

That movie he was talking about was called Coast to Coast and it was a great movie. I thought he was good.
Robert Blake made for good TV.
This guy is one fantastic actor and knows the business
He thought he’s been in The business so long that everyone should roll the red rug for him. I thought he was a wonderful actor.
That story of his Tonight Show meltdown reminds me of Lenny Bruce's last months.
ELECTRA GLIDE IN BLUE AWESOME

there is no such thing as a Blueberry tree.
He's wrong here. Baretta made him a star . He only did like two or three notable good movies early in his career and that's it.
Nah in cold blood is what gave him star status
@@raptorfromthe6ix833 baretta did .
@@jerrywoods4066 baretta defined him in cold blood is what brought attention to him
@@raptorfromthe6ix833 I'll go with that
Remembered forever as a murderer of a woman... and his own children want nothing to ever do with him.
He was acquitted. Fuck outta here.
He didnt order the hit, Christian Brando did. Blake was framed.
@@hart3254lol no proof there
